Is James a classic strong name or boring

Everyone seems to be picking unusual baby names these days which makes me concerned that James is just too boring. I think its a strong, handsome name but I could be wrong. Your thoughts would be really appreciated. Thanks

James is the perfect boy’s name IMO. Strong, classic and suits both the young and the old. Everyone knows how to spell it too!

Strugglingtodomybest · 01/03/2019 08:09

I think its a good strong name. But surely all that counts is do you like it?

bluebabydinosaur · 01/03/2019 08:12

Thank you, yes you are right. Im having a self doubting moment. Lack of sleep I think.x

Lovely name! Biased as close to two James's. But, there's 50 years between them and it suits them both.. James is a good versatile name!

foxsbiscuit · 01/03/2019 08:13

love it

Lost5stone · 01/03/2019 08:14

I tend to like more unusual names but I love James. Definitely use it!

MamaDane · 01/03/2019 08:17

Dull. In my opinion.

Seline · 01/03/2019 08:18

Love James!

paisho · 01/03/2019 08:19

Classic strong name imo.

SunnySomer · 01/03/2019 08:22

I am biased as I have one. Chose it because I think it fits anywhere - and can be adapted to suit the person your baby will become. There are quite a few around (of every age), but it’s good and solid and ageless

kaytee87 · 01/03/2019 08:31

I love it but I'm biased as I have one.

Luckingfovely · 01/03/2019 08:32

Classic, strong and gorgeous!

Nnnnnineteen · 01/03/2019 08:36

Love it. And despite a string dislike for -ie names for boys, j also love Jamie.

Girlinthegarden · 01/03/2019 08:37

It's a fabulous name.

shpoot · 01/03/2019 08:37

I love it. Sick to the back teeth of all these silly made up names when there are lovely names like James around

Rachey · 01/03/2019 08:37

Bit old & boring Hmm

Lweji · 01/03/2019 08:37

The trend for, often stupid, "unique" names makes names like James less boring.

My DS's used to be very frequent but it was almost rare in the Uk when I named him.
In a different country, it's fairly frequent, but not trendy.

I'd just stay away from the top names.
And I quite like James.

TillyTheTiger · 01/03/2019 08:38

It's gorgeous, timeless, classic - and since everyone is now going for more trendy and unusual names, there probably won't be more than one in the class

bluebabydinosaur · 01/03/2019 09:37

Thank you so much everyone. I agree with the positive comments and take on board the negative ones (which I do appreciate).

I realised just the other day that out of all the James's I know not a single adult James actually goes by James. All of them go by a nickname or their surname/ middle name.

There's 3 James in Dds yr1 class so it seems to still be a very popular name.

Smileymoon · 01/03/2019 09:41

I think it is a great name.

Peachbubble · 01/03/2019 10:22

It's a classic, I really like it.

Luckyduck88 · 01/03/2019 10:24

I love it!! So many nickname options too :)

KimberWozRobbed · 01/03/2019 10:28

I have one and he's perfect! Great for soppy nickname potential too.

AuntVanya · 01/03/2019 10:29

I have a James- he's 11. He's known as Jimmy at home and school. Sometimes his friends call him Jim.
