Mee-la

planespotting · 13/01/2019 09:41

Mee-la but I was raised abroad

thewinkingprawn · 13/01/2019 09:42

Mee la

arewethereyetmum78 · 13/01/2019 09:43

I teach a Mila and she pronounces it Mee-la.

Sallygoroundthemoon · 13/01/2019 09:43

I would have said My-la.

JaiNotJay · 13/01/2019 09:43

My-la

gallicgirl · 13/01/2019 09:43

Mee-la but I speak French so tend to go to that pronunciation. (said Pree-mark for years!)
I suspect a lot of people would go with My-la

Shmithecat · 13/01/2019 09:44

Meela

Racecardriver · 13/01/2019 09:44

Meela

DonDrapersOldFashioned · 13/01/2019 09:44

Mrsidgaf · 13/01/2019 09:45

Meela

olderthanyouthink · 13/01/2019 09:45

Mill-ah

Knittedfairies · 13/01/2019 09:46

My-la

ChickenCrimpy · 13/01/2019 09:46

Mila = mee-la
Milla = mill-ah

I don't think I've ever heard a mye-la. Lyla for sure, but not with an m.

FluffyMcCloud · 13/01/2019 09:47

Meela

Anothermothersusername · 13/01/2019 09:48

Meela. I think it’s lovely btw.

erja · 13/01/2019 09:49

I'm only asking as I think I've offended a friend by pronouncing her new baby's name as 'Mee-la'. I got a very snapped, it's 'my-la'! 😂

Mee-la, because that’s how it’s pronounced. It’s like asking how would you pronounce Laura, there’s no other correct option.
It’s originally short for the Russian name Ludmila, but now often used on its own.

mondaysaturday · 13/01/2019 09:50

Meela.

BuffaloCauliflower · 13/01/2019 09:50

Yeh she’s saying her babies name wrong. Tell her she needs to change the spelling to Myla if that’s how she wants people to say it.

BikeRunSki · 13/01/2019 09:51

Like Miller

PottyPotterer · 13/01/2019 09:52

I know a Mila, it's pronounced meela. Your friend should have spelt it Myla if she wants it pronounced as such.

shecamefromgreece · 13/01/2019 09:54

Yep she's spelt it wrong.
Myla is my-la
Mila is Meela

isittheholidaysyet · 13/01/2019 09:54

Mile-a (my-ul-la)

BuffaloCauliflower · 13/01/2019 09:56

Those coming to say they’d pronounce it Mile-a or Miller - I hope you’ve learnt it’s actually Meela should you encounter it!
