What is Hugh's brother called?

Expecting DC2, have plenty of girls names but stuck on boys. DS1 is Hugh.

Boys names we like but can't use:

Edward (because of the newsreader )
Toby (DH hates it)
Alistair (too similar to my name)
Henry (don't want the same initials
William (nephew)
George (nephew)
Thomas (DH)

We actually both like Felix, but worried it sounds like a cat/he might hate it when he's older. Should we just say sod it, we like it so we're using it?

Clever mumsnet came up with Hugh, which I'd never considered but LOVE now, so hoping you can come up trumps again!

I like Rory with Hugh.

But if you both like Felix, just go with it. Job done.

Cheeseplantandpickle · 20/10/2018 15:16

Felix is an excellent name. I also don't know any cats called Felix. I do know one called Henry. Smile

Michael or Conor. I think Michael is due a revival. Those three names are the names of my dad and his two brothers so in my head they go well together!

Giles.

Please don't because then he'll grow up and wear a beige Mac and idolise Bo-Jo.

Felix is fab!

BendydickCuminsnatch · 20/10/2018 16:03

Felix is so well used for kids these days and I rarely see a cat food advert these days, so I think that’s a non-issue personally :)

The Hugh I know has a brother called Charles.

AuntieStella · 20/10/2018 16:04

Felix is a cat's name to me. But you can't predict what he'll hate so that shouldn't put you off.

Love Felix
What about Alexander? Alex as nickname

blunderful · 20/10/2018 16:34

He is, isn't he @Reaa! Help me convince DH!

I did actually think about Charles, and I like the nn Charlie. I'll suggest it to DH later.

I do also like Alexander but I don't like Alex, and I think you have to be realistic that he might be called Alex. Just like I like Christopher shortened to Kit but I don't like Chris.

Maybe we'll revisit Felix, the majority don't seem to think it's too cat-like!

Fortunately our surname goes with pretty much everything.
