I like Percy but I don't like Percival or Perseus. What do you think?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Sessy19 · 02/06/2018 10:31

I would think Percy is a name well recognised on its own now.

Poseidon might be considered by MANY on this site as ‘too much’.

PopadomPointer · 02/06/2018 10:33

Ridiculous.
Just call them Percy

JayeAshe · 02/06/2018 10:34

What about Piers / Pierce ... ?

PalePinkSwan · 02/06/2018 10:36

I don’t think Percy is a shortening for Poseidon.

I think the other children in school will shorten it to Posie.

It’s a bit much honestly

daisypond · 02/06/2018 10:41

I think it's too much. I just asked my DH what he thought and he burst out laughing.

BertrandRussell · 02/06/2018 10:44

This must be a joke, surely. Please tell me it’s a joke.

I like it. And Perseus

SharkSave · 02/06/2018 10:46

Adventure

bengalcat · 02/06/2018 10:47

Bonkers I think the poster who told her husband who burst out laughing says it all

Muchtoomuchtodo · 02/06/2018 10:49

Awful.
We've got a Playmobil plastic boat with the same name.

InkSnail · 02/06/2018 10:50

Go for Persil, Percentage, Person, Perspicacious or Purse with Percy as nickname.

Scabetty · 02/06/2018 10:53

I am sorry but I don’t like any of them. Percy Pecker is a slang term for penis too.

Todamhottoday · 02/06/2018 10:55

I think of the '70 disaster movie

Inkspellme · 02/06/2018 10:55

It's awful. I think if I met a child with the name I would initially struggle not to let out a giggle and then I would just find myself feeling sorry for him.

Kocerhan3 · 02/06/2018 10:56

Please. Stick with Percy.

Beamur · 02/06/2018 10:57

It's a fabulous name if you're a God.

o0o0o · 02/06/2018 10:59

Will he be born with a long beard?

o0o0o · 02/06/2018 10:59

Poseidon - no. Possy/Pussy. Not great

PotteringAlong · 02/06/2018 10:59

Like the disaster film?

Knittedfairies · 02/06/2018 11:00

No.

AlbertaSimmons · 02/06/2018 11:00

I think deity-related names are much under used OP. You should definitely go for that 😂😂😂😂.
To be fair, I do know two guys called Mars (father and son) and DS1 was at school with Adonis.

Summerthunder · 02/06/2018 11:00

Oh god no

Bananalanacake · 02/06/2018 11:01

There's a Greek restaurant near us called that.

ReadytoTalk · 02/06/2018 11:01

You can't be serious.
