How do you pronounce Saoirse?

Sur-sha or sear-sha?

I prefer the first but not if it isn't correct hmm.

@MayFayner not sure why you're being so pedantic over this - do you actually disagree with what I said about the correct pronunciation of the name? (Ie the point of this thread). How do you think it should be pronounced?

If you really want to split hairs what I said was correct - "a Dublin accent" doesn't mean "all Dublin accents" - I've got lots of Dub friends who pronounce it that way.

You'll see that other posters on the thread agree with me. But whatever.

MayFayner · 14/04/2018 10:03

harriet I think it should be pronounced the way I suggested on page one of the thread.

Maybe if you RTFT before posting you would have seen that everything valid you said had already been said before, numerous times, by lots of other posters.

So your comment about the thread being full of crap, or similar, was unnecessary.

But harriet I actually don't know why I'm being so pedantic with you. Something about your first post annoyed me but I was wrong to pick on you, I'm sorry.

Sir Sher

because in a Dublin accent 'inertia' is pronounced 'in-air-sha'

No, it isn't.
