A middle name to signify Europe (before we leave...)

Call me a sentimental old fool/a remoaner/snowflake/whatever but DH and I are quite conscious that our son, due in Jan, could be born in quite possibly the last full year that we are EU members. I’d quite like to find a middle name that gives a farewell nod to Europe somehow (but isn’t too overboard like ‘Erasmus’ or ‘Europe’!). Had a look through the founding fathers for ideas but given we are both British we’d be looking at Winston Churchill - erm, not really doing it for me.

His first name is going to be Rudy and his big sister is called Maya. Surname starts with a T.

Any ideas, oh wise ones? Hmm

Minos? "In Greek mythology Europa was a Phoenician princess who was abducted and taken to Crete by Zeus in the guise of a bull. She became the first queen of Crete, and later fathered Minos by Zeus. "

I remember when we went into the Common Market there was a competition to name the first baby. I think it was something like Michelle that won, but my favourite was Eurosprog. 😊

PuzzledOfPenzance · 12/12/2017 15:24

Ken/Kenneth (tribute to Ken Clarke)

On a lighter note - Jean Claude, Michel or Donald (but could be confused with Trump so maybe best avoided)

Adenauer, or Konrad

Gilon - Hebrew name meaning circle, as in circle of stars (trying a bit too hard)

Or something Roman? To recall the unity of the Pax Romana which encompassed much of Europe and foreshadowed the incredible political and cultural unities yet to come? Pax or Julian?
