Not for me, sorry.

Ffswtf · 23/07/2017 19:56

Love the flower, not keen on the name though sorry

Gotanewusernamenow · 23/07/2017 19:57

No not Tulip.

Iflyaway · 23/07/2017 20:02

No. Unless you want her to be made fun of through life.....

iklboo · 23/07/2017 20:02

Preacher springs to mind. And she is an extremely tough cookie. But it's her nickname.

Gunpowder · 23/07/2017 20:03

I love it!

Dumdedumdum · 23/07/2017 20:05

No

feathermucker · 23/07/2017 20:05

I really don't like it, sorry.

Miloarmadillo1 · 23/07/2017 20:06

No. Brings to mind rude jokes about flowers on the piano. Lots of lovely floral names around though.

Bubbaboo2 · 23/07/2017 20:06

I don't think she would be picked on (loads of children have nature themed/unusual names nowadays and children are far more tolerant than most adults (I'm a teacher in a very, very tough school-trust me!) but my issue with it is there is no natural shortening (Lippy?) and as some who always shortens names that bothers me a bit. It's not a bad name though as far as names go (trust me-I teach some VERY odd named children)

"Brings to mind rude jokes about flowers on the piano"

Me too

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 23/07/2017 20:07

I love it, but only for a middle name.

Kimber2 · 23/07/2017 20:13

Tulip is such a beautiful name.I would choose the same if I were you

BunnyBardot · 23/07/2017 20:16

Love it.

imip · 23/07/2017 20:20

It's common in Turkey, I think. Not sure on pronunciation.

originalbiglymavis · 23/07/2017 20:22

What rude piano jokes? Isn't there a politician called tulip?

daisypond · 23/07/2017 20:22

I like it, actually, better than most flower names - probably because tulips are my favourite flower. It's not that odd a name. Tulip Siddiq, the MP? However, there's a children's book by Anne Fine called The Tulip Touch with a very disturbed child called Tulip, which might make me think again, but probably not much.

JoWithABow · 23/07/2017 20:23

What's the joke about the piano?
Is there a version of tulip in a different language that might work as well?
I quite like it, I think if you love it you should go for it

iklboo · 23/07/2017 20:24

Joke:

What's better than roses on your piano?
Tulips on your organ

originalbiglymavis · 23/07/2017 20:25

Arf! 😁

friedegs · 23/07/2017 20:25

I like it very much.

DirigiblePlums · 23/07/2017 20:26

I'm not keen I think it's a bit soppy

Bubbaboo2 · 23/07/2017 20:27

I don't think many children will think of that🙈 And I would like to think that adults wouldn't mock a child's name ;)
I love shit jokes and I've never heard that one lol

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 23/07/2017 20:28

Why not. No one blinks an eye lid at other flower names such as
Rose. Poppy. Daisy. Jasmine. ect

PittTheMiddleOneNoOneMentions · 23/07/2017 20:29

No. Really no no no. Don't you remember this from school:

Tulips in the garden;
Tulips in the park;
But everyone's favorite tulips
Are two lips in the dark.
