Is your surname Crest?

Of the rwo, I'd go with Forrest.

Falcon is atrocious as a child's name. You can almost guarantee he'd grow up with all the charisma of a bread and butter pudding, almost out of spite Grin

Hmmalittlefishy · 01/07/2017 22:55

Falcon.
It also seems more like a girls name than a boys even though I don't think it's really a name at all

Falcon or Forest?
GinGeum · 01/07/2017 22:59

I always try calling out the name as if I'm on the school playground to see if I like it. Calling 'Falcon! Come on! Time to go home!' sounds utterly ridiculous, really. But then, I can't really imagine yelling for Blue to hurry up and walk home, either.

Forest isn't too bad.

Silverthorn · 01/07/2017 23:01

Baby names is such a bitch fest if you don't like bland names. Hmm
Choose the name you like op. One of my sons has a generic name because dh is a stick in the mud and I still got raised eyebrows off some people.
Wish I'd called him rocket now.
I don't want the job if they're gonna judge me on my name either.

GingerNutMarmite · 01/07/2017 23:03

Forest is lovely!

RosieCockle · 01/07/2017 23:13

You don't have to go for bland, but neither do you have to go for pretentious. Blue, FFS. slow hand clap.

Mulch · 01/07/2017 23:17

Awful names and it's not like they could grow into them, they'd just get worse with age.

Zoflorabore · 01/07/2017 23:20

Could be worse i suppose, my best friend
overheard a little boy recently being screeched at by his mum " Ferrari " oh dear god.
Poor kids when they start school.

There is a Giro in my dd's school.

SequinsOnEverything · 01/07/2017 23:21

Forest

totalnamechanger · 01/07/2017 23:23

I know a teenager called Blue. He wears it well. Some people can own names like this. I'm not keen on Falcon or Forest but if I met one I might change my mind.

Treysanatomy · 01/07/2017 23:28

I didn't spot the topic and actually thought this was going to be about Gladiators.

Go with what you like OP, there'll always be someone who doesn't like it whatever you choose.

You don't need to decide yet anyway. Maybe when she's born you'll feel she suits one over the other, or a different name entirely.

Lilmy3 · 02/07/2017 00:15

Definitely Forest

Buntysoven · 02/07/2017 00:28

I really don't see what is so awful about Forest. Forest Gump was lovely and it has a pleasant sound to it.

bridgetreilly · 02/07/2017 00:45

Either will be brilliant when they do the next version of Gladiators.

BadToTheBone · 02/07/2017 01:14

Millennium Falcon
Forest Gump

Go with Falcon, Star Wars is why cooler.

Newbiecat · 02/07/2017 01:21

Oh god, are you kidding? These are the worst two names I've ever seen on these type of threads!

You don't have to chose a conservative name, this just screams of trying too hard to be different. They'll never forgive you as a teenager with either IMO

OliviaStabler · 02/07/2017 01:30

*Millennium Falcon
Forest Gump

Go with Falcon, Star Wars is why cooler.*

This ^^

Only1scoop · 02/07/2017 04:44

Dp uses the vile expression. "I'm going for a forest"

FartnissEverbeans · 02/07/2017 05:46

Baby names is such a bitch fest if you don't like bland names. hmm

This exactly. So many unnecessarily dickish comments on this thread (and so many people trying so hard to be witty and missing the mark completely). It's dull and predictable, much like the rest of this board.

I'm a teacher and kids have all sorts of names nowadays - schools are so multicultural that all names are just accepted. They genuinely do not bat an eyelid at anything out of the ordinary. I have never, ever come across a child who was teased for their name, and I've come across some children with very unusual names indeed (including two Blues, btw, neither of whom seemed scarred by their name Hmm).

Copperas · 02/07/2017 06:13

Falco like Marcus Didius Falco or Falco Vorpatril?

Mumoftheark · 02/07/2017 07:17

I'm not keen on either I'm afraid.
With Forest I think of gump and Falcon I think of the Gladiator back in the day. If you are set on one of the two I'd go for Forest.

What about any of these as an option?

Woody
Heath
River
Wolf / Wolfe
Hunter

Xx

ColourfulOrangex · 02/07/2017 08:05

I prefer Forest but he's your son, go for what you like, I know some people aren't going to like my daughters name when she is born but we like it :)

Giantwhoopsie · 02/07/2017 08:41

I met a little girl called Minnie last week. I started off thinking "ridiculous name" but within an hour I'd got over it and thought it really suited her.

Nature names are becoming increasingly popular. I've already said upthread I have an Autumn. In one of the baby groups I go to there's a Summer, and I've met a Willow, a Star and a Storm.

NataliaOsipova · 02/07/2017 08:46

Is your surname Crest?

Grin Grin Grin

Really don't like either, sorry.

Giantwhoopsie · 02/07/2017 09:00

OP Go with what you like, don't worry what other people think, a child grows in to their name. There's no end of names that are either considered too popular e.g. Amelia/Sophia/Oliver/Noah, too traditional/boring i.e. Elizabeth/George, too out there i.e. Forest :), too chavvy.... the list goes on.
