She's 28 hours old to be exact Wink and thought one would just pop out when we met her but we were wrong Grin

Our list:

  • Autumn (she was conceived in Autumn - which is a great connection for the name! As I suppose some people think it's twee if born and some people don't get it if not!)
  • Daisy
  • Grace
  • Ivy (it's funny, I love the sound and meaning but hate the way it looks!)
  • Madison (love Maddie and love this name but lots of people hate it SadSad not keen on Madeleine or just Maddie)
  • Olivia (I know the others could be considered popular, but Olivia is taking it to a whole new level!)
  • Violet

Thank you ❤️

Ivy is my favourite.

Then Daisy, Violet, Olivia, Grace, Madison and finally Autumn. I'm just not a fan of Autumn at all, and personally I would despise having my conception being eternalised in my name. Blush

PicaPauAmarelo · 18/06/2017 12:22

I'm not keen on Autumn Daisy or Violet. I think Madison is nicest.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 18/06/2017 12:41

Olivia Grace.
Congratulations.

TheGrumpySquirrel · 18/06/2017 13:06

Madison

Not another Olivia!

Floralnomad · 18/06/2017 13:11

Madison is the best . I don't get the love for Ivy , it's a very sharp looking and sounding name and it's a horrible invasive plant .

DarkestBeforeDawn · 18/06/2017 13:13

Ivy hands down

harderandharder2breathe · 18/06/2017 13:13

My order of preference is

Madison
Grace
Violet
Daisy
Olivia
Ivy
Autumn

PippaFawcett · 18/06/2017 13:15

Autumn!!! I love it.

EverythingEverywhere1234 · 18/06/2017 13:16

Your reason for choosing autumn makes me cringe. who wants to think about their parents shagging?
Daisy is too twee and cutesy for me
Grace. Lovely. Timeless too
Ivy, not a big fan to be honest, makes me think of poison ivy but that just me personally
Madison, I don't mind it. very popular at the moment tho and I don't think if that will affect your decision
Olivia, like it but very popular as you say
Violet, hate that name, just makes me think of a grumpy grandma 😂

TooHotWishingForWinter · 18/06/2017 13:26

That's obviously not why we like Autumn 🙄🙄🙄 it was just something I thought of.

I think Olivia Grace is just too popular.

Thank you all.

Ivy or Grace

TomaszCanSchafernakerMeAnytime · 18/06/2017 13:31

I quite like Autumn, second choice Madison and then Ivy. Not keen on the others. Boring and over used.

purplecoathanger · 18/06/2017 13:31

I love Grace. My friend's dog is called Daisy, so not keen. Ivy makes me think of old ladies. Madison is a bit chavy, Olivia is too much of a mouthful, Violet is quite nice.

Herbie58 · 18/06/2017 13:33

Personally I think Autumn is beautiful, as is Madeline.

You shouldn't give two hoots what anyone else thinks!

Lots of Grace and Olivia around here (south east)

TooHotWishingForWinter · 18/06/2017 13:36

Oh please 🙄 chavvy? I respect opinions but chavvy is ridiculous, what a horrible word.

You've disregarded Olivia and Grace yourself so down to 5 names. Whichever of those you feel most defensive of will be the name to choose Smile

I dislike Madison. The 'son' in it makes it too masculine-like how in Iceland, boys are given their father's name with son at the end for their surname.

Olivia is nice and I think it must be extremely popular in certain areas as I have only ever taught one and know one other!

As you've made the connection with conception and Autumn, I wouldn't use it.

MikeUniformMike · 18/06/2017 14:43

Autumn is the one I like best but could be seen as a bit Chavvy. Daisy is lovely but a bit twee. I don't like Madison at all. Olivia has been too popular. Please not Emily (not on your list but they seem to be everywhere).

MikeUniformMike · 18/06/2017 14:44

I like Summer too.

Pickerel · 18/06/2017 14:45

My favourites on your list are Olivia, Grace and Ivy.

TooHotWishingForWinter · 18/06/2017 14:45

How is Autumn chavvy?

OP posts:
CuteOrangeElephant · 18/06/2017 14:52

Not to confuse you further, but how about Scarlett?

MikeUniformMike · 18/06/2017 14:53

Maybe not chavvy then. If it's good enough for Princess Anne's DIl...

AlcoholandIrony · 18/06/2017 15:05

I actually love the name Autumn. I also like October as a name.

I think your shortlist of names is lovely. TBH I wouldn't disregard names that other people don't like or overly popular names. Does your DD LOOK like any of these names, for example? Can you imagine yourself calling her down for dinner with these names?
Congratulations on the birth of your
DD

SaS2014 · 18/06/2017 15:05

Madison is lovely.

NannyR · 18/06/2017 15:09

I really like Olivia and although it might be popular in name polls, I only know of one Olivia under ten years old. Might be more common in different areas of the country though.
