Brekken and?

We have a son named Brekken, so we like unusual names. Brekken is a lovely village in Norway (not where we got his name from) but it's unusual, but still pronounceable. That's what we're looking for, any ideas?

Maverick might be a lot to live up to. One of things I like about Brekken is that it's so unusual that he can write his own personality on it, without preconceptions. Maverick as a name sort of comes with a ready-made personality, iyswim.

MitzyLeFrouf · 01/12/2016 14:55

He's very cute. I think his brother should be called Heath.

Hoppinggreen · 01/12/2016 14:55

He is cute but Brekken is a bit of an "unusual" name. I'm not commenting negatively though because that's his name now so that's that.
However, it's not too late for little "Maverick" so please don't, if you are a Top Gun fan though you could go for Goose or Iceman

I like a lot of these suggestions, thank you

There is a list of Norweigen towns here if you want a similar theme
no.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liste_over_norske_byer

Or this side lists popular boys' names in each of the Nordic countries
www.babyhjalp.se/nordiska-pojknamn

Or perhaps names from Norse mythology such as Thor, Odin, Magni etc

How can some of you seriously think it's okay to keep taking the piss? We all try and teach our kids not to take the piss out of other people and here you lot are doing it.

Totally agree!

KlingybunFistelvase · 01/12/2016 15:19

It doesn't matter if you aren't in love with the name. It's the name of the OP's son. You aren't funny and I really find the pisstaking on here fucking irritating and nasty.

As OP is American/ in America we should also remember their naming choices are different than in the U.K. A lot more unusual names and no one bats an eyelid.
No ideas OP but lovely little boy.

MitzyLeFrouf · 01/12/2016 15:55

Isn't there an actor called Brekken something? He was in a lot of 90s teen movies.
