Hi everyone,

I'm new here!

We have decided on Katy/Katie for our baby girl.

Which spelling? I think I prefer Katie, DH prefers Katy... Blush

Thanks everyone!!

Katie

Kate looks 'strong', Katie looks a bit wet, Katy somewhere between.

And Katherine on the birth certificate, to leave all options open for her.

I'm a Katy, well Katherine on my BC but been Katy (although been through a few random spellings in my formative years- trying to be cool). It's funny - my immediate family all call me Kate, but I've always referrered to myself as Katy.

So anyway, I'd go for Katy :)

Katy, with Katherine on the birth certificate (biased).

Although I admit that some family members still spell DD's name incorrectly (she's 8!).

And we've never found a personalised mug or tree decoration or fairy or pencil case or ...

I had the same disagreement with DH, he wanted Katie. I wanted to follow the spelling of the What Katy Did books. I ended up playing the But I Just Gave Birth card.

Katy

I have a friend who changed her name to Kayt Hmm

kittylh · 17/10/2016 14:44

5one5 Oh dear. I am guilty of spelling my name Katie in a variety of ways as a young teen... KT, Kaytee, Kayti and probably more that I cannot remember. It was 'cool' back then. Never as a serious swap though!

I like Katy best. Lovely name biased

feellikeanalien · 19/10/2016 15:30

My DN is Caitie (shortened from Caitlin).

hoddtastic · 19/10/2016 19:23

I have an adult child of that name, I think you should call her Kathryn/Kathleen/Catherine and then shorten it (my adult child would have preferred a proper name to shorten too)
