I swear every child under 5 I've met in the past year have been called Jack or Isla. Failing that, Josh or Isabelle.

Lovely names but so bored of them. Anyone else bored of any other names?

I love Jack and Isabelle/Isobel/Isabel etc still. They still sound fresh to me no matter how often I hear them.

I do hear Olivia/Livvy/Liv, and other variations, an awful lot, but wouldn't say I was bored exactly.

ElephantsNeverForgive · 28/09/2014 15:41

Ellie/Evie etc. we have loads.

Sundaedelight · 28/09/2014 17:22

Isla/ Isabelle(a)/ Evie/ Sophie/ Poppy/ Lola/ Megan/ Ella
Jack/ Thomas/ James/ Sam/ Harry/

Don't sound fresh to me, just run of the mill, nice names. Personally I prefer a little more individuality. It's a shame when children become Sam A or Sam B etc at school.

Kantha · 28/09/2014 18:04

Lily
As pp says: Evie, Eve, Ava etc etc

Although there are very many Harry's and William's round here I am not bored of them in the way that I am of cutsey twee girls names.

PrincessOfChina · 28/09/2014 18:06

It's the boys ones that get me. William, Harry, Joseph, Samuel, Charlie. Sigh. And Jack. And Thomas. There must be at least one of eacj of those in every class in the country.

Mrsgrumble · 28/09/2014 18:07

Ava, so many

Luke.. Too many

smokeandglitter · 28/09/2014 18:10

Ava, Hayden/Jayden etc.

Mainly I still get surprised by the number of Chloe, Amy, Emma, Sarahs! I know SO many Chloes!!!

WowserBowser · 28/09/2014 18:16

most ending -ie

Thurlow · 28/09/2014 18:24

I haven't got bored of any yet (though tbf most of these names aren't my taste anyway) but our town has a very, very narrow range of names - all the girls seem to be in the Amelia/Florence/Jemima/Martha range, and all the boys are Harry/Elliot/Josh/George. I haven't heard a name in this town for ages that has made me think "ooh, that's unusual" or "I haven't heard that in a while".

MrsPatMustard · 28/09/2014 18:27

Harry. Joshua. Jessica. Amy Seems like there's millions of them knocking about...

Myhusbandishardwork · 28/09/2014 18:31

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 28/09/2014 18:40

Brilliant thread.
Charlie.
Amelia
Lily-May
Harry
Evie
I'm sure I'll think of more.

thecaroline · 28/09/2014 18:59

In my age group I've had quite enough of Sarah, Katie, Lauren, Chris, Michael, and Andrew.

Kids:
Isabella
Sophia
Ava
Olivia
Lily
effing Madison
Charlotte
Chloe
Harper (the next Madison?)
Amelia

Liam
Noah
Aidan et al
Mason
effing Jayden
Jackson or Jaxon (kill me)
Hunter should not be name.

shakemysilliesout · 28/09/2014 19:00

Noah and Isla

CheesyBadger · 28/09/2014 19:04

So funny - this is a list of all dd's preschool friends!

BonaDea · 28/09/2014 19:05

Yikes. This thread has the potential to cause massive offence!!

Very interesting read tho...

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 28/09/2014 19:07

Isobel is too beautiful and classic to be boring.

I have heard Archie and Sidney rather more than I'd like to, lately.

Siennasun · 28/09/2014 19:27

I work with kids, which has spoiled so many names for me.
Ones I'm sick of are the twee/old fashioned names mostly ending in ie:

Alfie
Albie
Charlie
Louis
Harry
Also Jack/Jake (Not twee, but there are about 10,000,000 of them in every school)

Evie
Ruby
Lily
Daisy
especially Poppy

Agree with pp that Hunter should not be a name.

lisaloulou84 · 28/09/2014 19:58

Is anyone else glad they picked a name nobody has mentioned as boring yet? Grin

Harry, Noah, Jack, Joshua, Kaiden! (live in SE London!)

Amelia, Martha, Isabella, Olivia, Sophia.

Have had a lot of friends had babies recently and the names seem to be getting more and more out there or old fashioned. In the last few months we've had willow, ernie, betsy, bay, sterling, maya and bellamie.

TheNewClassic · 28/09/2014 20:06

Jack, Charlie, Harry, Alfie, Thomas, James show no imagination and are seriously boring.

I live in London and I none of my friendship circle wouldnt call their children things like this or names like Millie, Evie, etc.

The newest babies I know are:

Trey
Ralph
Milan
Mila
Isaiah
Elijah
Raiya

Ilovenicesoap · 28/09/2014 20:09

Amelia-so bloody twee .

BikeRunSki · 28/09/2014 20:11

Evie, Amelia, Niamh/Nieve/Neve

Oliver, Liam, Ethan

PenguinsIsSleepDeprived · 28/09/2014 20:14

Isla, Isabel, Lola, Evie and Ellie.

Can't think of boy ones weirdly.

ACheesePuff · 28/09/2014 20:14

Amelia and Olivia

Alfies are EVERYWHERE!!! There's three just in one class at dd's school!

crje · 28/09/2014 20:17

Harry pronounced "horriee"
