It took us a ridiculous amount of time to agree on Byron's name. DH has....eclectic taste name wise. So now number 2 is cooking and I am flummoxed.
So far we have:
Atticus (Byron was very nearly called this but I've gone off it a bit)
Caspian - we both like but don't love this.
Tiberius - DH favourite.
Aegeaus - Dh's other suggestion.

Girl wise we have only 1 name we can agree on:
Ariadne.

And that's it, we're at a veto impasse.
Help please?

It's heebee - hadn't made the heebie jeebie connection before now...

Isn't anastasia ruined after a certain dreadful fifty shades of shite book or can we all move on from that?

Byron is a nice name. Very popular in the West Indian community round here.

Might I respectfully suggest an UNUSUAL name? Sheila. Or Derek? You won't find one of those under 30.

Or Anne, Margaret, Roger, Geoffrey.

I keep thinking of Byron Lee & the Dragonaires, a fantastic soca band & smiling when I think of the name Byron.

Nemesis was the Greek goddess or spirit of divine retribution, also known as Fate. Hardly on a par with clamydia I think! I like my Greek classics.

Nemesis may refer to:

  • Nemesis (mythology), in Greek mythology, a spirit of divine retribution against those who succumb to hubris
  • Archenemy, the principal enemy of a character in a work of fiction

I'd say, more commonly known to refer to an arch enemy. But if you'd like your kid to have that association, fine by me.

I once knew a lady with a son called Byron, I think his brother may have been Cadnam.

AlansCatalanCat · 19/09/2013 18:12

Isn't Cadnam a place in the New Forest?
