I know someone whose daughter and son are called Paris and Troy. Really! Aside from being utter rubbish, I mean, if we are going with mythology Paris is a boy not a girl, and Troy is a place not a person! Its Paris and Hector surely? Or Troy and Mesopotamia?

So can you top that? Go on, I could do with a laugh.

hunters are the type of wellies very wealthy UC familys have for hundreds of years in the boot room. Now WC who think they have moved up the social ladder into the so called MC buy them to try fit in with UC but they usually mess up by saying pardon and toilet .

I had them as a present from austrailia where they are cheap, they are nearly fifty quid here for baby ones!

haven't read the while thread but I went to school with a Paris and troy and they were both boys!

I suppose now is not a good time to mention that I have 2 pairs of uggs? They are terribly comfy and warm in winter.

Things I would not spend my money on: Uggs, Crocs, Hunters (in London), Birkenstocks, Doc Martens (the DC have them). Have never understood why anyone wants to wear or buy things that aren't pretty or elegant. Now give me a nice pair of Peter Kaisers or LK Bennett's or a little pair of Ferragamo pumps and I'll cross your palm with silver.

The worst sibling names I heard were twins called Tatiana and Tatiani. Both nice enough name, but together?

Are Crocs really posh? I nearly died of shame when I bought my kids some, and I won't let them wear them in public, they are for the beach or garden only. Hideously ugly things.

Surprised Jayden hasn't been mentioned yet, it normally is on any thread about dreadful names.

Actually DH and I agonised over Hector for DS because we both really liked it but in the end decided it was a bit too OTT - and we both remembered Hector's House and the dozy dog put us off.

We told DS not long ago and his response was along the lines of "well thank F* you didn't call me that - were you both going through a total twat stage or what?" We wondered briefly why we had spent so many thousands on his education but at least he would have fitted in .
