I know someone whose daughter and son are called Paris and Troy. Really! Aside from being utter rubbish, I mean, if we are going with mythology Paris is a boy not a girl, and Troy is a place not a person! Its Paris and Hector surely? Or Troy and Mesopotamia?

So can you top that? Go on, I could do with a laugh.

I came across a Richard head the other week.

Now that is just mean.

rathlin · 20/11/2012 20:27

I know someone with a Sam and Ella...wonder has it ever occurred to her? Ella came first so I suppose she probably always calls them Ella and Sam.

PickledFanjoCat · 20/11/2012 20:28

I had baby uggs given as a present but I just could wedge his feet in!

Gutted. Poor Tarquin had freezing piggies!

PickledFanjoCat · 20/11/2012 20:28

Couldnt I mean.

InNeedOfBrandy · 20/11/2012 20:28

Uggs are unacceptable dincha know only hunter wellies 4th hand me downs (or new for MC trying to be UC) are allowed.

InNeedOfBrandy · 20/11/2012 20:29

My cousin has a boy called Tuna and a girl called Jam Confused

OhDearSpareHeadTwo · 20/11/2012 20:30

So can you top that? Go on, I could do with a laugh.

About 5 years ago I had dealings with a family with a girl called Beau and a boy called Headley. Which sounds alright until you shorten them and add the family name

BoLock and HeadLock

BrianAndHisBalls · 20/11/2012 20:31

i dont know what uggs are, or are they the boots with the fur inside??

OhDearSpareHeadTwo · 20/11/2012 20:31

Can someone explain this Sam and Ella thing please.

Say "Sam and Ella" quickly and run the words together - sounds just like salmonella

PickledFanjoCat · 20/11/2012 20:32

They are just sheepskin boots really nice for winter. Are very overpriced though.

OhDearSpareHeadTwo · 20/11/2012 20:32

why is it not ok to be snobby at names with perhaps working class connotations but its then ok to be snobby about names with upper class connotations?

Because inverse snobbery is alive and kicking on Mumsnet

goralka · 20/11/2012 20:32

marvellous name for a burger van, Sam'n'Ella's

BrianAndHisBalls · 20/11/2012 20:34

Ah! It's nasty to children when it's the one way but 'a bit of piss taking' when it's the other way round Hmm

Pls say you can at least see the double standards??

I don't know of Uggs or Hunters so have no axe to grind but really, this just seems so bizarre. If its bad its bad BOTH ways.
