Sigh-Anne.

I thought the woman was mispronouncing Sian, then saw the name written down. Sigh-Anne. I mean, what on earth...?

the other was a little boy called Ragen. As in Ronald Regan, but Ragen. Ragen? I am not a name snob, but I do draw the line at deliberately misspelling surnames and then using them as a first name! Grin

I generally say each to their own but a few i've heard include Fox, Dark and twins called samuel & samantha but my favourite was the teenage mum who wanted to call her daughter clamidyia until someone told her what it was (told to me by my health visitor not sure if it's an urban tale but it made me laugh!)

My Mum went on holiday to Uganda as a child, and the children living in the house next door were called 'Electricity' and 'Margarine' - seriously!

A classic case of using a name that you like the sound of but have no idea of the meaning!
