I thought the woman was mispronouncing Sian, then saw the name written down. Sigh-Anne. I mean, what on earth...?

the other was a little boy called Ragen. As in Ronald Regan, but Ragen. Ragen? I am not a name snob, but I do draw the line at deliberately misspelling surnames and then using them as a first name!

Glad to have not seen DS2's name here yet.
I have a friend on Facebook with 3 DS's called Jett, Ripley and Stellan. Stellan's middle name is River.
I also have another with DD Israelle, DS1 Eden and DS2 Jyrah.
With regards to Regan, one of the leader people at a playgroup I go to has a son named that.
My sister named her baby Kai ducks

I met a little girl called Thierry recently. I was v taken aback at first, but I thought it quite suited her. Father a football fan obviously (showing ignorance as I have no idea who Mr Henry plays for!).

I once stood in a playground shouting "Yoda" - got some pretty strange looks. DS refused to answer to anything else.

Not a weird name but a weird spelling.Iona,but spelt Eyeowna !!??

I'm suprised not to see my dcs names on here although I don't think there particularly nutty.

I did laugh when I read the first few posts on this thread because I read Ragen as rageing!

I work at a hospital and we had a patient called William Gwilliam, also a dr called Donald Macdonald.

I'll be honest, I don't believe 50 percent of these responses.

At dcs school there are brothers called Kaylan, Corben, Kyron, Kelton & Cohen they have a sister called Laciana (pronounced Laysheeana) There is also a Tequila, Kaidan, Maisan, Ceejay that I can remember
Don't people realise how hard it's going to be to try and be taken seriously at the age of 25 going for a job interview called D'shawnjiya or some other made up variation!

I know of a Lasagne. If she's still alive, she'd be nearly 70 now.

I also know of an Attracta Feeley. Sounds like the sort of outfits I used to wear on a Friday night out.

In my line of work I come into contact with children everyday and I am quite often shocked by name choices but smile sweetly and say 'Oh thats lovely/unusual' - while cringing inwardly and hoping said child decides to change their name by deed poll in adulthood

I know a Ceejay, Paige Turner, Shilee (shyly) - girls and boys called Dre (as in Doctor Dre I should imagine) and River Greenfield.

I know of 3 sisters all called Princess

And soome I know named child narla (from lion king) and other child Atrayu from never ending story!!

One of our customers was called Mr Treblecock. The funniest(?) bit was his frist name.... Richard which of course shortens to....! What the heck were his parents thinking!
