Sigh-Anne.

I thought the woman was mispronouncing Sian, then saw the name written down. Sigh-Anne. I mean, what on earth...?

the other was a little boy called Ragen. As in Ronald Regan, but Ragen. Ragen? I am not a name snob, but I do draw the line at deliberately misspelling surnames and then using them as a first name! Grin

I just read about a young woman called Collagen. It was on the DM website and she is having cosmetic surgery so I don't know if it is real.

Jesus is a perfectly common Spanish name, and doesn't have the connotations that it has in the UK.

I've met sisters called Precious and Diamond, and also a Bayleee. Yes, three 'E's on the end..

MamaLazarou · 31/03/2011 19:30

Love Diamond. seriously! Precious, though - reminds me of Gollum, or the serial killer's dog in Silence of the Lambs.

puddeycat · 07/04/2011 18:51

allieballiebee · 14/04/2011 10:47

Did you see it spelt? Are you sure it's not just Cheyenne? It's a Native Indian name, I know a few.

Whitershadeofpale · 14/04/2011 11:24

We had a teacher at school called Mr Wrack, his first name was Mike and he had 2 DDs who came to our school called Anna and Ruth.

QueenofDreams · 14/04/2011 11:30

I met a guy in the states called Kermit. He even showed us his bank cards and drivers license because we didn't believe him

Ahzrei · 16/05/2011 20:41

I've heard Reagan for a girl, but have never heard of it being given to boys before.

There was a little girl called 'Missy-Bo' on tv the other day. Parents - little girls grow up eventually! She won't be that cute forever!

Kevlar · 16/05/2011 20:53

Isn't Sigh-Anne Cayenne? Hmm

manicinsomniac · 17/05/2011 00:56

I actually laughed out loud at Vomity Bean. Vodafone, Superporn and Romeo and Juliet Shakespeare are also pretty special.

I knew a Blue (girl), Rainbow (girl), Tree (girl), Summer-Daisy (girl), Ocean (girl), Ptolemy (boy), Spartacus (boy), Antigone (girl) and Summertime (girl)

CharleneysWishWellingtons · 17/05/2011 23:48

olibeansmummy · 18/05/2011 07:21

jennypenney · 19/05/2011 11:45

Someone mentioned they'd met Chelsea Bunn at a conference - she sends me sales emails!

My MIL taught an Ikea. I knew someone who named their daughter Ocean-Daniella.

My favourite was when I worked as a database monkey for a university and I came across a man whose surname was Steele-Bodger. He was a professor.

Oh, and Everard Cock.

putyoursocksON · 19/05/2011 13:45

There was a kid at my DSs school called Gulliver. I mentioned this to DH and he said 'Actually, in 'Gulliver's Travels' his first name is Lemuel. Gulliver is his surname'.

My jaw literally fell open as DH has only ever read 'Viz' and 'Macbook Pro User' to my knowledge.

BlueChampagne · 19/05/2011 13:50

Nothing nutty about Ptolemy and Antigone ... if you're Greek. Ancient names still in everyday use there.

colditz · 19/05/2011 14:22

I know a Harley, a Marley, a Korben, a Coben, a Kaden, a Jayden, a Bell (like in Disney, innit?), a Mason, a Layton, an AyKay, a Kee-an, a Kyran, a Koden, three Cody's (2 female, one male), 4 Tyler's (two male, two female), Tia and Maria (sisters), and (and this, IMHO trumps all) a Destinee-Starr
