Oh.

Can't say I'm overwhelmed with enthusiasm, but as we all know, we all have different tastes.

isore · 02/01/2011 20:16

Hmm, yes, unconventional for a royal. ( that's my diplomatic response)

[minces off sniffily]

orienteerer · 02/01/2011 20:17

Oh dearShock.

Highlandgirl · 02/01/2011 20:17

That's not official yet....!

Pingpong · 02/01/2011 20:17

there must be more .... .the Royals usually have about 14 middle names
Not keen myself but like your diplomatic response isore

AnnOnimous · 02/01/2011 20:17

Tis fine, to be honest, not ridiculous and not a traditional royal name, I think it is a good choice, even if I would not have picked it myself.

NewYearNewSolo · 02/01/2011 20:17

Like what SGM?

onimolap · 02/01/2011 20:17

Saw this on the other thread - is it official now, or still Eastern Daily Press as sole source?

deemented · 02/01/2011 20:18

Well... that's.... different...

gallicgirl · 02/01/2011 20:18

Really? I've been there and it's lovely but wouldn't use it myself.

It's where they shot parts of Forrest Gump - where he was sat on a bench waiting for a bus.

beanlet · 02/01/2011 20:19

Yuk - way too sleb.

Highlandgirl · 02/01/2011 20:19

Also a number of the children born into The Windsor Family in the last 10 years or so are called...
Margarita,
Davina,
Zenouska,
Columbus and
Cassius

None of those are hugely traditional....!!!

GrimmaTheNome · 02/01/2011 20:20

Would you expect someone called 'Autumn' to go for an old trad English name necessarily?

NewYearNewSolo · 02/01/2011 20:20

I don't like it at all...

NewYearNewSolo · 02/01/2011 20:23

Highlandgirl, I think most of those are way better than Savannah and very traditional with the exception of Davina and I've only heard of one Davina before who doesn't strike me as very...traditional Hmm

ivykaty44 · 02/01/2011 20:26

Margarita sounds tradition

Zara wasn't a traditional name though

Highlandgirl · 02/01/2011 20:27

Well I guess you have a point NewYear however since the name hasn't been confirmed yet..might be pointless commenting..!

I think it's pretty tacky, but at the end of the day it is nice they've called the baby something they wanted and not just gone for something hideous because it is "royal" (Eugenie, anyone?).

mathanxiety · 02/01/2011 22:02

Yikes. That's the best they could do?

onimolap · 02/01/2011 22:16

See here.

I think the EDP report may be based on a garble.

droves · 02/01/2011 22:19

OMFG . DH`s daughter had her baby on boxing day ...she decided on savannah for her babys name because its unusual ....theres going to be loads of them now.
Confused

juneybean · 02/01/2011 22:19

Why didn't I know there was a royal called Autumn?! Haha
