Found 'the one' - and it's not Beauden [grin]

Hi everyone,

Well, after a few days of constant name games, me and dh are sorted. Thanks to everyone's help we have decided not to go with Beauden after the BAD reaction on here. Or Indigo or Lyric or Soren. Lots of you still will hate our choices but I think you know when you have decided because you don't care less anymore what others think (in a nice way).

Soooo. our final choices are:

Girl: Sonnet Melody
Boy: Winter Beau Alexander.

See, I still have my Beau in there Grin.

I think these fit in really well with our other dc. The only big problem is that we have an Autumn so it may well sound contrived. But they aren't going to be joined at the hip and will have their own identities.

One last favour!!!

Can anyone suggest a nice third name to go with Sonnet Melody? (Our other three have all got two middle names so I want to do the same).

Was thinking perhaps:

Sonnet Melody Grace
Sonnet Melody Eve
Sonnet Melody Erin

Want a classic name she can fall back on if she hates her other two names.

Anyway, thank you for all your help. I think I can almost leave these boards in peace now Grin

Sooo pleased that I've arrived at this thread after Winter has been ditched!

Don't really like Cypress but I love Cy as a nn.

I also love Atlas.

I'm guessing that you've already considered

Thor
Roman
Moss
Solar
Red

stropicana · 03/10/2010 22:09

Autumn and Winter - please tell me you are not serious? This is a wind up, right?

Call your baby Beau, 'tis lovley on a girl or boy.

FunnysInTheGarden · 03/10/2010 22:09

OP Winter is a very respectable Jersey name for a boy/man. Mostly old men here called Winter, but a fair few. Tis not so different form Noel.........so if you live near France goferrit

arizonagirl · 03/10/2010 22:10

Hey, no slating....yet. Off for a bath but will check - by then, it will have all probably changed around.

Who knows, Jem could take over in the next few days (if baby Cypress doesn't arrive Grin )

Although, yummytummy - you are a spanner in the works - do still like Winter. But unfortunately we have been vetoed in style.

Cypress or Sonnet is due to arrive with us on the 28th (my birthday) but is very likely to come early. Scared silly as it is a very high-risk birth for both of us ... but that's another story. Anyhow, will see how this thread gets on and when it reaches a conclusion I will leave you lovely people in peace with a promise that I will keep you posted about baby with name when it happens.

Forgot to comment on the girls choices, really dislike Sonnet Melody anything but not sure what fee you want for a girls name?

cloudydays · 03/10/2010 22:10

Cypress Jem Alexander, nn Cy. I really like it!!

Sonnet Melody Rose - growing on me.

Congratulations and please promise that you will update sometime soonish after the baby is born! I'm dying to know what's going on the birth cert!

PatriciaHolm · 03/10/2010 22:13

The cypress is the cemetery tree. Very funereal.

Could consider just Cyr on its own -pronounced Si?

arizonagirl · 03/10/2010 22:14

I promise - least I can do Grin

x-posted with you and just read that you're nervous (or "scared silly") as the birth will be high risk. Will keep you and little what's his/her name in my thoughts - please do update us when he/she arrives and let us know that all is well.

Really hoping that very soon your biggest worry is whether your baby's name really is insane in the membrane :)

NeverReady · 03/10/2010 22:25

How about Flight for a boy? I've only met ever met one but he was lovely. It's quite nature-y and gentle in a way...

largeginandtonic · 03/10/2010 22:27

Ooooh Arizona i like you. Great names.

Beau Alexander was on our list. He was Beau Oscar in the end.

Sonnet is very pretty.

Cypress is ok. I like Winter but not with Autumn.

Atlas was very cool, Jupiter too. What about Wolf or Linus?

jem1980 · 03/10/2010 22:46

Good luck with the birth - try not to worry. Will be thinking positive thoughts for you and little Cypress or Sonnet!

arizonagirl · 03/10/2010 22:46

OH NO!!!!!!

And I really did think we were there Sad

PatriciaHolm - I could curse you, but thank you for pointing out that the cypress tree is associated with cemeteries and funerals Shock. How can I possibly purposely chose Cypress now for my little bundle when I have all the names in the world to choose from. That would even seem more crazy than Winter -imo.

Not good and now the name Cypress is making me sad. AAAhhhh! My bath is damn cold now after all that googling about damn cypress trees. Don't know what to think now. Sad

Thanks for the sweet comments. And thanks for bearing with me - you folk have been my rock. Got a feeling the story isn't going to end just yet for boys.

Here's hoping for a girl. Atlas, Jupiter, Jem.....Winter. My brain hurts. At least I won't be so relaxed now and go into labour.

jem is sooooo lovely. did you ever read to kill a mockingbird?

arizonagirl · 03/10/2010 22:49

'choose' - sorry girls. Wouldn't usually bother to correct but know so many of you already have me down as some mental retard, that I wanted to prove I really can spell! Smile

I'd get that last post deleted if I were you Arizonagirl,or this thread will go off on another tangent.

lola0109 · 03/10/2010 22:56

I love Jem and Beau but you couldn't have Jem Beau Alexander as it would sound like Jimbo. And Beau Jem has initials BJ which is a no no!

What about Jem Winter Alexander?

I've been reading your threads so will now have to go and have a long think for you, whilst you enjoy your bath!

Love Sonnet Melody Rose BTW! :)

LetThereBeRock · 03/10/2010 23:10

Anyway I'll throw in a list of nature related names. I don't like all of these, but I'll list them anyway.

Linden
Laurel
Leaf/Leif
Thorn
Orion
Hollis
Nairn
Silvanus
Roan
Bracken
Bran
Basil
Eden
West
Cirrus

I have a friend,in America, with a Mercury Alexander. I've always loved his name, though it's just as odd as Winter. I'd be unlikely to have used it myself, but I do like it.

LetThereBeRock · 03/10/2010 23:17

Jem is lovely.

jem1980 · 03/10/2010 23:22

Alternatives to Cypress if you're not 100% happy:

Nairn (means "river with elder trees")
Silvanus (the Greek god of trees)
Burnet (old French word for brown)
Quince

Forrest
Zephyr
Hickory

Cobalt
Cyan
Cerulean
(progression from your Indigo moment)

I'm sure you've already come across these by now, but anyways...

lola0109 · 03/10/2010 23:24

DP is on the case now...

Glen
Dante (I think he's thinking Dante's Peak)
Lomond

How about Scorpio in reference to himb being born in October.

lola0109 · 03/10/2010 23:28

Larch
Clay
Dag
Terran (means Earth man)
