A challenge for you

I've been meaning to do this for ages, and thought, maybe if a few of us do it I'll stay motivated.

I was reading this article, and thinking I've been struggling to get motivated creatively recently, so maybe doing something every single day will help.

I hope some of you will join me, I'll start tomorrow. With the aim of creating 365 pieces of work.

Wish me luck.

Oof, I don't think I coudl design somethign new every day but am up for trying to make something new every day (or finishing a UFO)

Good luck!

Kaloki · 27/04/2010 16:38

Alright, here's Day 1's offering

I almost forgot about it! Good start huh?

JackBauer · 27/04/2010 18:31

Oh wow! Very nice! In my defence my skills are sewing + crochet so not easy to do a whole thing. I started a baby hat earlier but it was too nice here so we spent all day at the community farm, but i did bring home some strawberry plants and planted them, doesthat count?

Kaloki · 27/04/2010 18:34

I'd count it! I have the opposite of green fingers and kill any plants I touch

OP posts:
Kaloki · 27/04/2010 18:34

Also, forgot to ask, UFO?

OP posts:
JackBauer · 27/04/2010 19:43

UnFinished Object. I have lots

I don;t normally kill plants, the bastard slugs do that for me!

moocowme · 27/04/2010 19:53

i do think they are right in that article you need to spend at least 15-20 minutes a day doing something creative of your own.

i shall have to see what i can perfect with a glass of wine in my hand after DS has gone to bed.

Kaloki · 27/04/2010 20:39

Ah! In which case I have a few UFO's of my own! Maybe I'll work on one of them tomorrow

moocowme Please do I think it's good practise.

Um, I baked today.
Did a bit more of DD1's crochet dress which has so far taken 3 months.
And made a kokeshi doll finger puppet that looks so sinister it made my friends baby go cross eyed.

Kaloki · 29/04/2010 01:02

lol, now that I have to see!

I started this just before midnight, that counts right?

IMoveTheStars · 29/04/2010 01:26

Kaloki, amazing!! definitely wish I had the time fo this!

Kaloki · 29/04/2010 03:43

I'm struggling to make time, hence the 11:30 rush to get it done! Must remeber it earlier tomorrow today, no idea what I'm going to do though

Kaloki · 30/04/2010 11:01

I did do some work yesterday, I just forgot to upload it, so here it is. Now to get onto today's creativity.

How's everyone else doing?

JackBauerIsZonerrific · 30/04/2010 12:16

Yesterday I found a table on the street witha sign saying 'take me I'm free' So I did.
Have rearranged my bedroom so I now have a sewing area, it's a bit dusty and dim, needs a lamp, but it's a place where I can get my machine out and leave it out, so that was my project for yesterday, will upload pics later.

I am out tonight so wanted to spruce up a clutch wrist bag thing I had floating around, I have made some flowers out of video tape so they are shiny and am goign to glue them on later, so that's today! Also goign to make myself a headband if I get time.

Love those pics Kaloli. DH ahs taught DD1 to say 'I fart in your general direction' which is Oh so amusing.

Kaloki · 30/04/2010 14:38

I need to set up a sewing area And yes, pictures!!!

OP posts:
Kaloki · 30/04/2010 23:28

And here is today's creativity

Technically I am doing the back end stuff today rather than the fun visual side of things. But still..

good work & great find JB

kaloki love the MP drawings! you're doing really well with your creativity challenge!

JackBauerIsZonerrific · 01/05/2010 10:28

Okay, latest stuff uploaded.

room before
Sewing corner!

Bag was £2 from tesco and I made 2 crochet flowers of different sizes from tape out of a vhs cassette and glued them on.

And today's offering A hair clip for DD1 made to cheer her up as she is feeling a bit neglected becaue DD2 is not well and I am hungover so we have been cuddling on the sofa. DH took DD2 to bed and I whipped that up in 5 minutes, seriously!

Kaloki · 01/05/2010 12:08

Aww the hair clip is pretty Didn't realise you could crochet tape, that's fantastic.

And I am jealous of your sewing corner!

JackBauerIsZonerrific · 01/05/2010 12:57

Still massively messy but am going to put a set of bookshelves where the chair is so I can store fabric on and the shelves on teh wall will hold my 'bits'.
Not used it yet though...

thell · 01/05/2010 16:56

I love that hairclip JB!

Good challenge, Kaloki - I've been getting into gardening a bit recently, so mostly I've been doing that. But yesterday I got fed up with the broken carrier bag I've been using for the pegs, and so I sewed together a felt bag!
Not sure if it will stand up to daily use, but it's pretty and makes me smile

Kaloki · 02/05/2010 01:42

And another

This one is a work in progress

thell sounds good

jb So far all my sewing stuff is "stored" on the floor

OP posts:
JackBauerIsZonerrific · 02/05/2010 09:31

Oh that's lovely kaloki, are you drawing them freehand or what?

Did nothing else yesterday as spent most of it with DD2 lying on top of me weeping with an ear infection. AB's kciking in now though.

Dingle · 02/05/2010 11:08

I am really not sure that I could manage to actually create something everyday, but I am sure a little crafting is acheivable MOST days.

I started a card last night and completed it this morning so I will allow to say to myself I have done todays creativity!

Kaloki · 02/05/2010 12:53

Oh dingle that's beautiful!!

JB Yep, they are freehand, using a digital tablet
