A challenge for you

I've been meaning to do this for ages, and thought, maybe if a few of us do it I'll stay motivated.

I was reading this article, and thinking I've been struggling to get motivated creatively recently, so maybe doing something every single day will help.

I hope some of you will join me, I'll start tomorrow. With the aim of creating 365 pieces of work.

Wish me luck.

Oh thank you , thank you, thank you for this thread. You have really helped my find my missing mojo. I left the hoovering and played with my crafty stuff today.

Here's my creation for DAY 6. Not quite how I had planned , but very pleased with the fact I have made one of the teacher's thank you cards and it's still only MAY!! LOL

Kaloki · 07/05/2010 19:31

That's gorgeous! What do you use to colour it?

JackBauerIsZonerrific · 07/05/2010 19:44

Hey monkey, come on in, Even if it's something teeny it is soemthing!

My Stewei doll is half done, I've done his head anyway, bt his body was way toon small so I have frogged it and can't work out how to fix it.

Today I have been teaching myself broomstick crochet but I got cross and frogged that too as it looked shiteola.
Still got this evening to make something else though...

Dingle, that is gorgeous veyr, veyr cute, smarty pants!

Dingle · 07/05/2010 20:06

LOL...Jack! Kaloki, I use Copic Markers to colour. I started with water colours, moved on to Prismacolor Pencil and about a year ago, I invested in my first set of Copics...the addiction went from there!

I NEED to see pics of what you are all doing! Whats a Stewei doll and what does broomstick crochet look like![naive emoticon]

Right of to play on the Wii fit for a while, will be back later! XX

JackBauerIsZonerrific · 07/05/2010 20:59

I'm not showing my Stewie doll in it's current floating head without a body state, but this is Stewie Griffin from Family Guy.

This is what broomstick crochet is supposed to look like. Mine does not. You make loops round a large knitting needle (or broomstick..hence the name) and then crochet through groups of loops.

Anyway, onto today, have been watching glee and sniggering to myself as I made DD1 an apple cozy for our picnic tomorrow. Just going to do DD2 one as well.
So funny.

monkeybump · 07/05/2010 21:43

Dingle your cards are so sweet and so beautifully made, you can see how much work you put into each one!

Jack, Im loving the sound of a Stewie doll.. he is wicked! And your apple cozies are brilliant!! Kinda thing I imagine Japanese schoolgirls going nuts over..

Ive started with a very simple self portrait sketch just to ease myself in.. Its been a while!

Kaloki · 07/05/2010 22:37

I love your style Monkey! Beautifully done

lol, the apple cozy is great JB

JackBauer · 08/05/2010 09:24

Oh very nice monkey, almost anime in style, I likey.

I got a bit carried away last night and made 2 cozies, which the DD's discoved this morning and so had apples for breakfast, and a bracelet cuff thing.

Am currently finishing a sparkly butterfly as it is raining outside and I feel we need some sparkle

Dingle · 08/05/2010 10:15

Oh yes, in much need of some sparkle here too. Some lovely work going on!!!

I haven't anything to show yet but I do need to make a Design Team card for tomorrow! I did some knitting last night but I am really not enjoying the pattern. I have that pull it off the needles and find something else notion! Does anyone else get that feeling about their work?

JackBauer · 08/05/2010 10:26

Yup dingle, see my post above about all teh frogging, I do that all the time!

Dingle · 08/05/2010 10:30

wondered what "frogged" was...so out of touch!LOL

JackBauer · 08/05/2010 10:37

Ah, to frog

Note, NOT tio be confused with frogging

Dingle · 08/05/2010 10:43

LOL....aha..I can see the difference! Thank you for your wealth of knowledge!xx

Dingle · 08/05/2010 23:17

I have crafted today but I cannot share until tomorrow morning as it is a DT card. I did however do a VERY little bit of shopping today, some new crafty stamps and some pink pumps to help me recover for the green suede boot incident!

My waffle is HERE!

Dingle · 09/05/2010 11:33

Where is everyone, got anything to show me?

VoulezVouzCrochezAvecMoiCeSoir · 09/05/2010 16:32

Dingle · 09/05/2010 20:09

Thank you, I have popped over and joined!

I have had the In-laws over today so I haven't managed much crafting yet but here is yesterdays creation!

monkeybump · 09/05/2010 22:59

Hello all!

Sorry as suspected I havent much to show... yet! Im in the process of making a knitted hat for DD (nothing fancy as knitting is not my strong point) and a scarf for me (a jersey plaited kinda thing, bit like this), so will try and post pics soon!

Dingle Im so impressed at how you manage to create your lovely cards being a busy mum and all- and do a blog too!

You are all v inspiring..

VoulezVouzCrochezAvecMoiCeSoir · 10/05/2010 16:44

here is yesterday's

had already done the poncho but had an accident with the original hat so made this one alst night, is for an MNer so didn't eant to risk her seeing it

Your cards are just gorgeous dingle, and very nice monkey, that scarf will look cool.
Have been out all day so will have done nothing today unless I get bum in gear tonight.

VoulezVouzCrochezAvecJACK · 11/05/2010 12:11

Nothing to report today, started a ballet cardigan for DD2 but only managed a few inches, so if you want a pic of a white rectangle...let me know

Dingle · 12/05/2010 14:33

Hi everyone, I have had a few "down in the dump days" after bad news about DD's hearing. Hey ho, just another of life's hurdles!

Pulled myself together for a little while last night and finished a card with the image that has been on my work desk for a few days!

I am frozen, off to put the kettle on and organise a bit of crafting for today!

Love seeing everyones work-thanks again for the kick up the backside motivation!

Kaloki · 13/05/2010 13:34

I've been a bit slack, had a lot of stuff happen in the past week or so. But I have a few things to upload

Knitting progress
Cabinet More DP's work than mine, but this was a hideously ugly 1970's cabinet.
Dress form Based on this tutorial
Dress Not finished yet, but getting there
DP's t-shirt Used bleached for this

Kaloki · 13/05/2010 13:40

Dingle I am in awe of you!

OP posts:
VoulezVouzCrochezAvecJACK · 15/05/2010 13:50

Hello! I am still here, had crappy few days as DD's not been well/generally grumpy.
Am currently making DD1 a crochet tunic, almost finished the bodice, but it will take me a few more days before I am finished, so that is my ongoing project.

Oh, and I found out I can't go to the school fair after all, so all those flowers/hair accesories I have made are for nothing. Was thining of ebaying them or something but not sure whether it is worth it as would only get a few quid, and then postage etc...any ideas?

Dingle · 16/05/2010 10:48

Hi everyone, sorry I have been missing in action for the a little while! I was called into work on Friday, which is usually my day off. Yesterday my little craft room was in a terrible state as hubby put up an extra shelf for me- you can never have too much storage space!LOL
Sat up last night though to make a Design team card to show today!Got me feeling all motivated again!
