i get better photo's by turning off the flash and using the macro setting HTH

dh's my top tips for photography are macro setting, natural light (no flash, never, ever), if it's dull, use something white (card, paper, fabric will do) to reflect what light there is back at your subject, tripod (otherwise you will struggle at keeping it still), less is more when it comes to a setting, either shoot your subject on it's own or with a few well chosen props, a cluttered background will detract too much.

and if in doubt, tweak it all in photoshop

another vote for macro and never flash

in fact I love macro so much am thinking of buying full macro lens for my camera...mmmmmm

I've not been on for a few days and I'm lost!! What on earth have you all been up to? You naughty minxes you. I'm sure it would be clearer if I wasn't skim reading. Can't be using pc (or anything else really) for long. I have a nasty tummy bug and I have to keep running off . What makes it worse is I still have to look after 2 toddlers.
Feel crap. Hovering by window to see if I can collar a neighbour to fetch me a bottle of milk. I can't even go round the shop. I'm half hoping I don't see anyone to ask though (soooo embarrassed to ask for help).

I am on a self imposed surfing ban, starting today so if you catch me on here tell me to feck off please yesterday's shenanighans made me so cross I got very little work done, and that's not good.It makes me feel very demotivated when I don't achive what I should in a day at work. I am trying not to come on in work time anymore so (hopefully) you'll only see me in the evenings from now on...and only for short bursts then as...I have crafting to do you know...

gm tbh it was all a bit of a storm in a teacup, but the part that annoyed me is that yesterday, one of the moderators got a bit stroppy, and it wasn't only aimed at the new 'gang' as they put it.

he ticked off another new member for posting on an old, out of date thread, them posted himself on an old out of date thread (the one called moderators)

then he got in a right tizz about another thread vv had started, and posted this...

"I was going to delete this thread. Don't fill the forum with garbage - we are not MSN chat. Thread closed. Next time I start banning..................how many warnings do you need?"

then he had the cheek, after going on about it being a 'craft' only forum, to start a thread about motorbikes!

talk about double standards! vv then had her wrist slapped

Am all agog at your craft forum related sheninigans!! Better than Dallas. That's enough to put me off joining there, it would bring out the worst rebel in me and that bloke would make me want to re-enact the 'kicking Bishop Brennan up the arse' moment from Father Ted', actually there is a woman at the company I work for that always brings that little skit to mind. (Must resist the urge).

Off to work shortly, so can't hang around but just wanted to know if anyone is interested in coming to the Stitch and craft show at Ally Pally? I know JG, that we've discussed it and I wondered if anyone else wants to come along too. Go on, you know you want to!
