this thread

LK - sorry you having so much stress - deep breathing and multiple cups of tea, that's my prescription

lucykate · 23/06/2008 12:28

i'm pretty sure beadsage is a he, have just read the post on vv's thread and agree, he's overreacting a bit! i could understand if any negative comments had been aimed at other members, but thats not the case, all it is, is 'can't understand yet how this forum works, but i'm sure i'll get used to it' surely thats a fair comment to make.

you should see how the forum comes up on my computer, it must have been designed as a windows platform site, i used a mac and it's all scrambled!, so yes, it is tricky to find out how it all works!

yes, Beadsage is a he, I just looked at his profile page

how he gets time to read every thread on the go is amazing...

I just posted what I thought was an innocuous reply on a thread about craft magazines but it seems to have disappeared...I mentioned ravelry in it so maybe that is against the rules??? I didn't put a link or anything

oooh, I think it's scarey over there

dior has just posted a beautifully put, and very diplomatic reply, so hopefully, that will be an end to it.

can't believe he started a new thread addressed to the 'new gang', bit [shocked] by that, no need for it imo!

OP posts:
lucykate · 23/06/2008 12:53

crossed posts, dior!!, yes, i thought you came across very well

jg, there's a whole thread there on ravely so it's ok to mention it, can't think why you would get deleted!

I've just found the thread you're all going on about!!

From looking at the content of that section - the Craft Living Room - why can't we just "chat" on there?

There's references to Big Brother etc so maybe that is the place for us.

Or maybe we need to ask Beadybum if it will be OK to talk non-craft in there

vInTaGeVioLeT · 23/06/2008 13:50

O M G - i just popped out to have dinner and do the nursery/pre-school run and have come back to this crazy beadman business!!!

yes i guess we made came across as a bit shrill and over excited to find each other at the new place -
we went barging in shouting about hairstyles and what we were going to wear that night then we dissed their home decorating style and continued by explaining in graphic detail how we'd like to have wild dangerous sex with JOhnny Depp

they have got wicked smiley's though!!!

vInTaGeVioLeT · 23/06/2008 13:56

right i've just started a new thread in the craft living room - it's called "general chat "

jeangenie · 23/06/2008 14:22

oooh, did someone really do the johnny depp thing over there...if not, go on, I dare you (see, told you it was bringing out the teenager in me!)

Dior I thought your response was perfect - much better than anything I could have said, which would have been full of unsavoury teenager styleness...

VV I have posted on your thread, a crafty thing as I am still scared of the beadyeyed one...

I think what this actually tells us is that we do need to get that country house with millions of bedrooms and a huge garden and set up our crafty commune and give up on all this virtual crap ...I can tell you who we wouldn't invite to join...

jeangenie · 23/06/2008 14:23

ps PLEASE no-one say where we came from, or nowhere will be safe!

Tillyboo · 23/06/2008 14:23

VV - what did you get told off about ? Can you link ? I've been using the CF for a while now - I must admit I got told off right at the beginning as I didn't know about the 25 post rule ... Oops !

I'm on a mac and don't have any problems with display or speed. It's a very useful site for finding answers to issues but they are very tight on moderating

Tillyboo · 23/06/2008 14:28

Just found it ! Blimey, that was a bit stiff wasn't it ?Old beady eyes doesn't seem to have much appreciation of newbies finding their feet.

And that picture ? Is he dressed as a woman ?
He seems to take things very seriously eh?

Don't worry about it, I don't think anyone reads the rules at first do they ? I didn't ...

You had lots of warm welcomes so concentrate on those.

jeangenie · 23/06/2008 14:39

oh lordy - I am finding it a bit like car crash tv over there...am horrified but drawn in...that Si person who has just been on VV's chat thread is another find!

(men on crafting forums, shouldn't be allowed )

vInTaGeVioLeT · 23/06/2008 14:42

yeah i quite like this having 2 forums at once - but it could get confusing!!!

i don't mind men crafters

jeangenie · 23/06/2008 14:53

verrry confusing...could post all the wromg things in the wrong places and get into all sorts of trouble

I don't mind men either, in any walk of life, except when they act all rude and superior and walk over people, then I mind them for sure...

Miaou · 23/06/2008 15:19

lol, I think that forum definitely has its place in my life, but I do feel a bit like I'm being eavesdropped by my parents

Will persevere however!

Whizzz · 23/06/2008 16:08

Beadsage is a he - I 'know' him from a beady forum and have spoken to him at a bead fair. In fact we had a laugh as he was trying to photograph a stall & I stepped in the way at bit. He does seed beady things - is very talented too.
I haven't really got the hang of Craft Forum yet, last thin I really need at the mo is another forum to distract me!

Whizzz · 23/06/2008 16:15

Oh blimey I just read the 'telling off' do we all have to stand in the corner!!

he has just p**d me right off now, he's closed vv's chat thread and left a rather abrupt post

something has got his back up and i now think whatever we do/post, he's not going to change his opinion.

big overreaction!
