I think it depends on the tile. The one on the picture is quite light so I'd go with the natural cotton or suede. Some of the brighter 'swirly ones' would be better with black.
I like the photo idea. My faves are the swirly ones though. Although the little castle is just gorgeously cute.

Whizzz · 08/08/2008 10:35

Thanks - I might do a few more 'fairy' inspired ones - I have some nice pale blue & pink cotton thong I think...will play with tiles today

meridian · 08/08/2008 10:45

Whizzz- personally I prefer silver chains.. so when I buy pendants and things I just buy them on thier own and string them on one of the 5 or 10 chains I already have.. otherwise I think that the stringing depends ont he colours in the tile.. so dark tile= black cord.. pale tiles= natural cotton... i don't know if thats of any help or not...

Thanks again, I wonder whether to just sell the tiles as a pendant & not bother about the threading??
(I also mix & match pendants on silver chains!)

tuesday the 19th of August... we have a moving date!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Whizzz · 08/08/2008 17:33

Yippeee - congrats Meri

I have made 5 more tiles this afternoon & listed 2 on Folksy. I can't seem to add my profile though??

vInTaGeVioLeT · 08/08/2008 17:46

whizz - how about you sell the tiles without thong/chain but sell thong/chain separately offering a discount if bought with a tile - or is that too complicated to work out on the checkout?

Whizzz · 08/08/2008 17:56

Yes, I'm still pondering to be honest. I have listed a couple of tiles by themselves, I'll see if there is any interst at all

whizzz- I have found a few books to send to you.. will sort it out monday though as have another book (A girls school annuel from the 50's ) that I'm going to take apart for my painted pages and thought you might want a few of those to have a play with....

I have jsut packed away all DH's camera collection.. dusty nackered things.. but I didn't say that.. will do soem nitty gritty packing of unneeded crap stuff tommrow am.. and monday... happy camper now that we have a really real moving date.

Whizzz · 08/08/2008 20:39

ooooo thanks Meri - just a few pages will do, I only need scraps really. Do you have my addy? Can I swap you something in return?

Is it just me that when they see pics of their crafts on the internet, think that they look rubbish compared to everyone elses??

Tillyboo · 08/08/2008 21:49

Yay ... finished my fairytale swap. Haven't blogged as I haven't posted it out yet .... It's going to America.

Also, nearly finished a commissioned personalised cushion. So, been busy, busy, busy. Off to the in-laws tomorrow so will be having a day off - phew !

Went to see Space Chipms today and it was a fun film, perfect for a wet rainy day. My dh always falls asleep in the cinema but not this time - he found the film very amusing as it has some adult puns and humour in it.

whizzz, i had a look on etsy at other sellers who do scrabble tile pendants. most seem to just sell the tile on it's own, some offer a choice of necklace to go with it. i really like them, am sorely tempted to buy one of yours whizzz!

i've had a really lovely write up on the craft gossip web site, here, she's said some really nice things

we still have no kitchen floor, dh is going to spend tomorrow sorting it out, hopefully by the end of the day it will be re-concreted and once it's dry (in about a weeks time) we can lay the new laminate floor, yay!

oh and forgot to say, dh has been out tonight, i went downstairs as the outside light had come on, and finally saw the hedgehogs. we have 2 hedgehogs living in our garden, dh watches them from his studio every evening but i hadn't seen them yet this year. last summer we even had little baby ones too, so fingers crossed and we may get the patter of tiny feet

whizzz- I'll e-mail you later or on monday as I don't have your address.... and will take the books apart and send you a few pages from each that look intresting to cut up.... I was wondering if you would do keychains of the tiles? as I think that would be fun as well... i'm a recovering keychain addict but I must admit that the one I have now is ditched and really needs replacing.. honest..

I always think other peoples things look better than mine.. especially the photos.. I never seem to get decent photos.. except like once.. and that was only a picture of a cheese cake.. my painted pages look a lot better in life than they do when photographed... DH is too busy to take pics for me and i'm just not great at photography...

Whizzz · 09/08/2008 09:07

Thanks for the pages Meri There's no reason why I couldn't put one onto a keychain I suppose. The tiles are quite light though so it might end up a bit 'unbalanced' if you see what I mean. I have done some keychains with foiled hearts here that are a bit chunkier.

LK - let me know if you are after any particular design if you decide you want one (could even use a little pic of one of your creations - a bit of 'round your neck' advertising!!! )

vInTaGeVioLeT · 09/08/2008 11:42

ooohhh - yeah can i have a button thief

Dingle · 09/08/2008 12:00

Miaou · 09/08/2008 21:17
