LK, just been blog hopping and noticed Gina ferrari has made your jampot cover! here

justkeepswimming · 17/07/2008 20:33

hi all

whoops - look forward to seeing the dress pics and good luck with your dress....

hello champs i'm new here

dior - love those christmas cards. especially the one with the tree (green & red) love the paper too.
(dumb question alert - if you get the free downloads of paper from websites do you need to have a colour printer? cos i don't, boo hiss and i fancy getting some of the downloads of some magazine websites )

meri - i like the masked woman, feel she has a bit of catherine zeta-jones about her?
also meant to say i love the teal & sterling silver earrings, they would match an evening dress i've got perfectly...tho it doesn't match my 'figure' atm, lol!
and that pink candy jade is fab too
and the purple seed bead earrings with the silver beads amongst them (does that make sense?) are lovely too

miaou - well done on finishing the teacosy, it's lovely would love to have seen the original jumper
um, sure there was something else i was going to say but my laptop won't load your page atm...

hi everyone else
have been doing cards here, have some photos i may get round to uploading at some point.
have mostly been buying 'stuff'
really need to sort storage one day......

Tillyboo · 17/07/2008 21:32

Just a quickie as BB is on ..

have blooged some new box canvases although the fabric might be familiar ...

Miaou · 17/07/2008 22:25

just keep swimming - if you go to my post and click on the link (it's the words "rather nice wool jumper"), you can see two rather amusing pics of the jumper before and after shrinking!

I am making a sock monkey atm. It's a bit disappointing, I thought it would have a bit more "character" than it does atm. However, will persevere.

meridian · 18/07/2008 09:01

jks- thank you very much! so you like jewellery then? I quite like the earrings and the funny thing is I don't have pierced ears but being able to make my own sorta makes me wish i did... without the having to sit in the window at Claires Accessories, amid bright pink plastic accesories.. bah

tilly-- lovely canvases but I'm very ashamed and shocked by your viewing habits!!!

have done a second painting of the button thief.. picture is a bit crap though.

milknosugar · 18/07/2008 22:08

hello, wondering if i can join in? (hate people who say that)

just started making jewellery, have been knitting for a while and always been into arty crafty stuff but lost myself for a while after ds4 was born (not ebough hands). have also just started a blog because i feel i ought to, everyone else has them and love the idea of having so many photos being useful rather than just sitting on computer.

have been looking at stuff people posted/blogged and you are all very talented, am a bit nervous i wont pass the test!

ranting · 18/07/2008 22:36

Milknosugar, you are more than welcome to join in, yes there are some very talented ladies here but, some of us just pootle along, crafting for the sheer hell of it. We don't make you pass a test to join in and the more, the merrier.

Meri, thanks for that tut, been gathering things together to help dd while away the hols, so that is much appreciated. I've also ordered some plain white t shirts and some fabric pens because dd wants to paint/draw her own t shirts, she's brimming with ideas for that one. Went for a shower this morning, came down and she'd fashioned a skirt out of half a metre of flimsy cotton that I had drying on the horse and 20 clothes pegs. She pinned them on the 'hem' to make a 'pretty trim'!! Think I'll loan her out to Marc Jacobs for the day

Oh and Meri, as you are the baking guru, do you by any chance have a recipe for peanut butter and chocolate chip cookies.

vInTaGeVioLeT · 18/07/2008 22:49

hello milknosugar - we are all friendly here show us your blog then!!

Miaou · 18/07/2008 22:54

Aw ranting, that is so sweet! My dd2 is busy making a "quilt" (well, kinda fabric picture with wadding, but as I said to her, it's a good introduction to a lot of the techniques!), and dd1 is cross-stitching, so they are both following in my footsteps!

Milknosugar, you are very welcome!! I've got four children too, but still find time to craft (just don't look at the dust bunnies in my house, that's all ). Put a link to your blog then we can all add some nice comments!

I've had a second pass today at making a bridesmaid bag for the shop, it's come out much better this time and I also made it in just over three hours, complete with embroidery! That makes it financially viable to make. I've also got two more commissions in the offing, and a third which if it comes off I will get very excited about ... !

Miaou · 18/07/2008 22:57

Oh and I forgot, yesterday I made a sock monkey! It's hilarious and rather cute, will blog tomorrow though, it's too late and dark to take decent pics tonight.

We have also swapped the dds' bedroom around today, separated the bunk beds into single beds, so we can finally get on with decorating their room. We are doing a sea theme, but I need to paint the "sky" first - can't wait to get started on the pics though! Dd1 has done loads of sketches, they are really great!

meridian · 19/07/2008 08:12

Ranting- I have a peanutbutter cookie recipe.. all you have to do is add choc chips to it... will dig it out in a bit and e-mail it to you.. I'm sure I have your e-mail somewhere...

milknosugar- welcome! everyone is really nice and helpful on here.. all diffrent crafts and abilities.. and diffrent helpful ideas too... a few are of the more professional type so very good to pick thier brains about things... mostly we have a natter about everything.. look forward to having a peep at your blog...

milknosugar · 19/07/2008 08:18

yay! hello all, just been to look at the next sale, most of the stuff i wanted has gone so i bought a load of stuff i didnt particularly want but is still nice

be kind! only managed 3 posts but thats commitment for me! have loved looking at other peoples blogs but its more fun making the stuff than mucking about with pictures. have put some on mn profile depserately fishing for compliments a while ago! now want to go back and find all the wierd and wonderful things i knitted for pressies last xmas, wish i had taken pics at the time.

puppydavies · 19/07/2008 09:08

morning milknosugar, everyone's lovely here having/reading blogs is sooo dangerous - it tempts you into a million new projects and -alongs, and all those clever little tutorials people make, let alone the new crafts you never even considerd (erm, spinning, anyone?) and soon you have a house stuffed full of supplies for projects you don't actually have time to make. or is that just me?

lol at fabric pictures with wadding miaou i've made a couple of those (and have one in the works now) and i call them quilts :P and yay for financially viable sewing, whenever i wonder about making stuff to sell that's the point where i give up...

i have a few crafty holiday plans myself - i got a little toy loom that i reckon dd1 (5) is old enough for now (and if she doesn't like playing with it i can think of someone else who will...) and i thought we'd have a friend round and do felting cos that's fun getting squishy.

meridian · 19/07/2008 09:19

milknosugar-- want the kitties! want the kitties! lovely bits of jewellery too but not sure it can comepete with those teeny tiny kittens... I miss kittens... lovely jewellery too and fab kid photo.

meridian · 19/07/2008 10:04

have blogged a fairy tale swap so come have a look and sign up!

Miaou · 19/07/2008 10:16

oh, I would love to do that, but I really daren't take on any more things atm! Will watch and enjoy the end results though

milknosugar, have left you a comment on your blog

puppydavies, I'm not sure it can be called a quilt because there is no piecing involved, and she is just handsewing all the bits together ... but then I'm not a quiltmaker so I wouldn't know! (I have been making one for about 10 years but I keep putting it back in its box because it scares me )

that's the problem with handmade stuff Dior - it's difficult to get across to people how long these things take, isn't it?

I have blogged my sock monkey and bridesmaid bag now.

vInTaGeVioLeT · 19/07/2008 12:43

dior - i wouldn't worry about looking stingy - i'd much rather have a handmade present than yet another box of cheapo chocolates, that is what teachers mostly get.

milknosugar · 19/07/2008 12:45

woo hoo, am pathetically please with getting comments BLOG ETIQUETTE QUESTION - can you link to anyones blog on yours or do you / should you have to ask first? have been lurking on various blogs here and i love looking at all the piccies but i have to trawl mn threads to find links every time, can i just put links on my page?

we are doing beaded bookmarks for teachers but the kids are making them, i bought silver plate squiggles and the boys can do a beady drop to attach to them, cant wait to see Diors, see how its done properly!
