jeangenie · 02/07/2008 23:34

whoops - well done, would love to make a duvet set for my gals someday

LK - brilliant use of the stunt jam...brilliant! that made me laugh so much I could barely read the tutorial...but when I did, it looks great...

Thanks all for the cuteable lurve here and there - is the first time I've been "featured" anywhere, ever, and I am very happy about it indeed...it's these little things that make the world a nicer place eh?!

Miaou · 02/07/2008 23:49

Well done whoops! I lurve recycling.

In fact, my latest make is made from leftover bits of curtains. I seem to have a thing about curtains at the moment!

lucykate · 03/07/2008 10:01

whoops, all the best projects involve recycling, well done

how to feel old or what, i'm off to a reunion this weekend in liverpool, it's for our art foundation course, it was 20 years ago, 20 years!

Jg, congratulations, how fantastic!!!

Whoops, well done on the curtain duvet, I must admit have never attempted a duvet although my mum made a beautiful one for dd, she painted holly hobby type dolls onto squares and joined them together, it is a thing of beauty. Mil also made a couple of bed cushions out of Barbie curtains, old curtains are the bees kness. I also have a thing for curtain bags, made loads of them, so I tend to rifle the curtain rails at charity shops quite a lot.

Have put a sign up thread for the knitting and stitching show on Arts and crafts here. All are welcome to sign up, yes I'm taking to you, lurker standing at the back!!

yay for the mention genie. how did you find out - did they mail you? i was reading my bloglines one day and suddenly i saw something i made on a big blog - i nearly screamed and then i looked at my stats and nearly fainted .

and yay for your duvet cover whoops - is it the first thing you've made on the machine? i get that little thrill every time i get the machine out from it's dusty cover (i do everything in fits and starts - i flit from one all-consuming obsession to another) and go wheeeeee long lines of magic stitching. i like home dec sewing and quilts better than clothes cos it's all straight lines and hardly any pins so you can get a bit of speed up

ta for heads up on dunelm too. fact i need more fabric like i need a hole in the head is beside the point, sale fabric doesn't count i might have to go have a nosey.

oh i don't remember who it was but that orange pendant was fabby - i'm not much of a jewellery girl tbh but i'm such a sucker for orange.

not much crafting going on here at the moment - i'm doing flatpacks to finish off my sewing room (technically it's a work/play room for everyone but my sewing seems to be taking over at the moment).

oh and lolol at whoever mentioned 'spare' time for crafting - all of mine lately has occurred between 10pm and 1am once the baby is finally asleep.

TheMeridianCascade · 03/07/2008 10:39

puppy-- the pendant is my creation...thank you... sorry my nickname is currently in Dr. Who mode.. blame Dior

miaou- the cushion is great.. I'm sure it will be well loved.

LK- have left comment on fab jam pot cover tutorial!

have altered the button thief added some willow branches that she is hiding in.. very happy with her.. going to do some prints I think if I can get DH to scan her for me...

DiornaNoble · 03/07/2008 11:59

Who me?

Thanks for the comments on the blog. Meri - I love the '80s girl. I really like your swirly stuff.

Am off to look at blogs and leave some comments.

Miaou · 03/07/2008 19:00

Have blogged again! This time I have put up my Kitchen swap teatowels. I quite like applique, I have decided.

Puppydavies, lol at sale fabric not counting! And IKWYM about "spare" time - though I now have the luxury of 3 (yes three) hours a day between 7.30 and 10.30pm when I get to craft - whoop-de-do! (I shouldn't complain really, I love my kids, but I would love a little bit more time! (mind you 24 hours a day wouldn't be enough, I imagine!))

Gingermonkey · 04/07/2008 09:14

Puppy - so glad you re of the belief that sale fabric doesn't count. I use that justification all the time. And fabric sent to me by my friend also doesn't count, as I didn't buy it, did I?

In fact I'm off to shop.....

jeangenie · 04/07/2008 10:40

oyigah...my japanese friend has a friend coming from Japan to visit next week and has offered to get him to bring over a print gocco set for ME...am I excited...ooooooh yeaaaaahhhhh...

(and obviously I need another creative activity to keep me busy)

she is most amused by my print gocco passion...ahe used it all the time when growing up as pretty much all Japanese families had one and feels a little like we do about playdough about it I suspect!!!

mistypeaks · 04/07/2008 10:53

Oooh you lucky lucky thing.

jeangenie · 04/07/2008 10:55

aren't i though...hope he can get it now and is happy to carry it over, and the zillions of inks and extra bulbs I will be requesting...

TheMeridianCascade · 04/07/2008 11:09

jg- ... right then when can I come vist you? I WILL bring cakes... but I sooo want to play on a gocco!

TheMeridianCascade · 04/07/2008 11:11

oh and red .. of the riding hood variety not the wine sadly...

puppydavies · 04/07/2008 13:05

ooh gocco i was all set to get one a few years ago then they said they were going out of production - i figured it wouldn't be worth the hassle trying to source the bits. how did they get saved i wonder? i seem to be a bit of a jinx like that - just as i get into polaroid they stop making the film

i'm set for a super-crafty weekend. tonight i'm having some sewing friends round for a swap night (my "room to swing a cat" party as we finally have just that) hoping to thin my stash a little.

then tomorrow i'm spending the day at a natural dyeing workshop. i haven't played with dyes for ages but in the excitement of anticipation i got myself an indigo dyeing kit as i've always wanted to give that a go - the process looks so magical.

Gingermonkey · 04/07/2008 15:25

oooh, PD - a swap party, sounds FAB!!!

JG - not talking to you anymore...too jealous

Tillyboo · 04/07/2008 21:15

Whilst blog hopping I found myself here. What a lovely surprise and what a lovely blog too ...

I'll be blogging some new things tomorrow but for now Big Brother beckons, I know I'm sad but my curiosity with human behaviour makes compelling viewing, even though the majority of the housemates are pretty awful.

DiornaNoble · 04/07/2008 21:19

Tilly - how lovely! Nice to be recognised for what you do.

Miaou · 04/07/2008 22:32

Oooh I love that blog - have now added it to my blog list!

whoopsididitagain · 05/07/2008 14:57

any ideas how to set a blog up and what to put in it im dying to have a go ?????

loving that door stop tilly

my preemie knitts are coming along

ty for the comments on duvet will add pics later

TheMeridianCascade · 05/07/2008 17:38

pd- very naughty.. sorry you missed out on your work shop... will they be holding another sometime soon?

whoopsi- its really easy to set a blog up.. but you need to decide where you want to have it.. blogspot.com or typepad... I can't remeber the other one or two... I can help you with blogger.. its really quite simple... as for what you put in it thats entirely up to you... but i find it a useful outlet for venting my creativity... my dad and my best friends in the states read it regularly so its a way to keep connected.. I am a terrible letter writer.. and an infrequent e-mailer... once you get into the swing of it its quite fun really.. and its nice to get people to leave comments and then see what they are doing on their blogs. feel free to ask me any questions.. or of any of the others everyone is helpful here.
