@QuantumWeatherButterfly Thanks, it’s actually linked to my old name because I’m rubbish at picking names so it’s looks like I’m milking this song as long as I can, then presumably I’ll need to quit MN because I can’t think of any more.

I’m off sick today. I feel awful. I’m still new in new job and between DD being sent home from nursery and then me getting sick, I just feel like I’m taking the piss. I know these things happen and my manager is great but apparently years of presenteeism are hard to shake off. I’m hoping that I might have the brain capacity to do some crochet later but for now I’m just binge watching friends.

Nice work @QuantumWeatherButterfly

Hope you feel better soon @WeCanLiveLikeJackAndSally I'm also under the weather today. Had my covid booster yesterday and feel terrible. Can't find the energy to pick up my knitting, or indeed the tv remote, stuck on Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares USA

Hello, I have been following this thread for a little while but thought my question might need its own thread. If you could please have a look, still under "Arts & Crafts" but called Row Counter. Thank you!

SpinMeRightRoundBabyRightRound · 03/11/2022 20:38

I find it easier to use pencil and paper if I’m doing something where I have to count rows as I go @RedDiamond.

That’s lovely @MyOtherCarIsAPorsche and can I say how relieved I am you shared a pic of the cardigan not the other picture 😂

I ended up turning off adult content on Rav after seeing a spate of men modelling skimpy pants, usually when I was eating lunch 😬

I hope you feel better soon @WeCanLiveLikeJackAndSally and @VittysCardigan!

Yay @QuantumWeatherButterfly! congratulations, it looks brilliant! If I was your DD I’d steal it too 😄

MyOtherCarIsAPorsche · 03/11/2022 23:10

@QuantumWeatherButterfly

That's a beautiful bag - I'm a mediocre knitter, I'd love to be able to crochet. I've started many times and given up.

I've made knitted bags (some felted). They're in the wardrobe - unused.

I can't pick up crochet from books, and I'm no better watching YouTube. I prefer the look of crochet to knitting - it's frustrating.

tizwozliz · 04/11/2022 12:15

Another one that uses pen and paper for row counting. I did try an app once but it was a faff as have to unlock phone to get into app each time etc.

I use numbers for rows and cross off and tally marks if I need to track number of repeats. Sometimes low tech is simplest

My jottings. I write everything down and it's kept just in case I do the same pattern again.

I'll have to take a picture of my notebook with patterns in. I decided to write my jumper pattern up neatly but can't actually work out what I've written Confused

Problem is I work on more than one thing at a time and don't leave enough black pages. So I've got a bit of jumper pattern. Then a glove pattern. A bit more jumper. Then socks and so on. It's rather chaotic.

tizwozliz · 04/11/2022 19:44

Finished my Halloween crochet this evening. It's a free pattern I got, supposedly it should take two hours so I thought it was a nice quick project. I'm obviously much slower at crocheting that I thought as I think it took me more like 4. Admittedly I did have to frog and redo things a couple of times but even so.

That's fab @tizwozliz

SpinMeRightRoundBabyRightRound · 04/11/2022 22:40

I like your freaky little alien @tizwozliz 😁

You know when you just want to get something done even though you’re really half asleep but you think it’ll be fine? I just looked at what I did last night and went 😵‍💫 how?! Rip rip rip…

WeCanLiveLikeJackAndSally · 05/11/2022 22:03

@CrochetBug have you heard of RocketBook? It’s a proper notebook that you write on with pens but you can scan the pages in, wipe the pen away and reuse the page. When you scan the notebook page in, you can add it to folders. It might help you to work on several projects at once and then keep your patterns collected.

getrocketbook.co.uk

You can get them on Amazon too.

MyOtherCarIsAPorsche · 05/11/2022 22:15

@tizwozliz

So neat. So cute. Fab photo. 🥰

CrochetBug · 06/11/2022 01:34

Take a bow, frazzled101 that is fabulous.

RedDiamond · 07/11/2022 13:58

@frazzled101 That is stunning! Well done!

QuantumWeatherButterfly · 07/11/2022 14:00

@frazzled - that is just gorgeous! You should be very proud.

WeCanLiveLikeJackAndSally · 07/11/2022 16:06

@frazzled101 thats lovely and just in time to snuggle under.

I’ve hurt my neck. I think I did it coughing last week but I could barely move it at points over the weekend. I have the day off today (annual leave not sick) and wanted to get some crochet done but it’s made it really bad again. I did a bit of crochet in the car on Friday and Friday evening I couldn’t even have my arm hanging loose at my side. So I’m wondering if it’s something I’m doing when I’m crocheting. I’m thinking I might buy myself an early Christmas present and get a pillow that will support my back and arms, see if that makes a difference.

sophs29 · 07/11/2022 16:54

Wow @frazzled101 that is amazing! Well done you!

@WeCanLiveLikeJackAndSally hope your neck feels better soon!

MerylSqueak · 07/11/2022 20:55

Bravo @frazzled101

Get better soon @WeCanLiveLikeJackAndSally

StillNiceCardigan · 07/11/2022 21:31

That’s beautiful @frazzled101

I hope your neck feels better soon @WeCanLiveLikeJackAndSally I sit in all sorts of weird positions when I’m crocheting so can sympathise.

We’ve had an offer accepted on the house we want to buy this afternoon so I’m catching up on knitting my temperature blanket as a way of trying to relax.

WeCanLiveLikeJackAndSally · 07/11/2022 21:48

Exciting @StillNiceCardigan fingers crossed it all goes well for you. It’s stressful time for moving at the minute but the good news is that your temperature blanket will be caught up! I’m about 20 minutes away from the Suffolk border but I’m debating if we should move back near my family in the north west. I’m only in the office one day a week so it’s DH’s job.
