My thoughts exactly Knotty. And that would be lovely. Smile

DillyTante · 16/07/2012 06:31

Timeforcake, if you do decide to sell rather than donate directly to charity I might be interested in one (sorry to be cheeky, don't worry if that is too much of a pain). Though I am a very competent crocheter blankets are my nemesis due to my lack of completer-finisher personality! I've had a half made one been looking for one for the back of my sofa for ages.

Finally got round to upload photos... My squares with all of the lovely 'recycled' wool I received :)

PurplePidjin · 16/07/2012 15:53

Jules, they're gorgeoise!

I now have MrsY's squares and a tummy full of cake ready to get hooking :o

SoupDragon · 16/07/2012 17:48

Lovely! :o

Jules - they are beautiful, lovely colours

Wolfcub · 16/07/2012 22:38

Joining up to team hooker, thanks Pidj for pointing me in the right direction

JollyHockeyStick · 16/07/2012 23:14

Decided last week to take up crochet. My crochet hook arrived this morning and I've made a wee granny square tonight. So proud of myself that I've put my first ever pic on my profile. I think team hooker may be seeing lots of me Grin

SoupDragon · 17/07/2012 07:30

Woohoo! More Hookers!

JollyHockyStick, I remember that feeling of pride at my first square. In fact I remember my pride at my first wonky bit of crochet that most definitely wasn't square or any other recognisable shape Well done :)

Don't forget to check if there's a convenient meet - I'm going to try and get to the Waterloo one on 23rd :)

Some lovely work on this thread... Very inspirational

This is the link to my throw/shawl/blanket that I've just finished... Got some wool left over so going to make a matching cushion cover...

Quick question: Do I want to enter a crochet item in the hand knit class of the village show? (yes i have a thread about this in chat but it's getting pleasingly silly!)

SoupDragon · 17/07/2012 12:42

Of course you do!

I was gutted to discover that my local shows only seem to have florist or honey categories. Plus livestock.

Jules146 · 17/07/2012 13:20

Yes Pidj def or are there small print rules that state it must be made with two pointy things?

Jules146 · 17/07/2012 13:22

stuck a lovely throw but I love the bag that was there too! Where was the pattern from?

PurplePidjin · 17/07/2012 13:31

mauviscrafty.blogspot.co.uk/2012/03/crochet-dungarees.html

Nothing in the rules about hookers entering the hand knit class! Stuck it up as my fb status and have been invited to enter a different village show (same weekend) so might go with the friendly one :o plus the person who asked is the current mayor of my town...

StuckInTheFensAwayFromHome · 17/07/2012 13:58

Jules146 The bag is from a pattern I found on ravelry (using a multicoloured wool and I changed the number of stitches so it would be the size I wanted)
This is the link I think... www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/faded-denim-tote-bag

Dilly- sorry not to have replied sooner, up to my eyes in house clearing.
As soon as I have worked out how many blankets there are and what's being kept/ what's ready to re-home, I'll be in touch. Would love you to have a blanket! Will pm you in a week or so. Thanks

Can't wait to finally have some free time to crochet!

JollyHockeyStick · 17/07/2012 18:35

Thank you for the welcomes :)
