Harmony Test - waiting results

Hello, I had my harmony test done Monday night. I was told the lab in London would receive it by Tuesday night and start working on it and that it would take 10-14 working days to come back.

The wait is horrible. Anyone else recently had them done and had to wait that long for it to come back from London?😭

@MaryShelley1818 I’m so sorry to hear this! I can’t imagine what you’re going through :(

Did you manage to sort out the combined test? xx

Thank you for the kind messages lovely ladies, they managed to get me into another hospital.

I cried throughout the entire scan because I know my age will automatically put me as high risk.

The sonographer was lovely, she said NT was tiny at 1.5mm and hopefully if I get really good blood test results I might be able to become low risk. She checked everything and said in her opinion baby looked absolutely perfect and she could not see anything that would suggest otherwise or cause her any concern.

I think if we do get a low risk, we might just not do NIPT again and just take the 80% refund. I can't keep going through it all.

I do feel very reassured after the scan xx

@MaryShelley1818 I’m so glad they managed to fit you in somewhere else! & good news too! Do you know when you’ll get your blood test results back?

I think I would do that too. I guess a lot of people don’t pay for NIPT & get low risk & everything is fine too! I hope you feel a bit better now too xxx

They said someone will call on Tuesday or Wednesday if there's a problem/high risk/something to discuss. If not I'll get a letter in 2-3wks.

I just think that by the time I retake NIPT and wait for results I'll be 21wks and will have already been screened/scanned and tested for everything by then with almost as high accuracy for DS and higher accuracy for Edward's and Pateaus. So it's just pointless really.

I did NIPT for early reassurance but that chance is over now so have to be practical xxx

I'm so glad you managed to get seen today @MaryShelley1818 I would do exactly the same as you are planning. I felt much more relaxed after my 12w scan, almost so relaxed that I half wished I hadn't bothered with nipt. Let us know, I'll be thinking of you x

Update....
I rang the hospital because my nerves are shredded and I can't wait any longer - she rang the lab for the results for me and.........really really low risk! 1 in 6000 which is amazing at my age. She said NT scan and bloods were perfect 😊 Can't describe the relief! Xxx

MaryShelley1818 · 05/09/2020 08:06

Another update.....had our private scan on Wednesday night and we're having a little girl 💗

Hi, yes I'm here xx

Everything is good and I am currently 28+3 with my little girl kicking away.
I had a very detailed spine and heart scan at 17wks (due to being on Insulin) and everything was perfect. 20wk scan was also perfect and everything looks very good.
In retrospect I wish I'd never had the NIPT as it caused me over a month of upset, anxiety and stress. The NHS testing plus the detailed scans have made me feel very confident-I know they're not 100% but neither is the NIPT.
I only had it as I thought my age would automatically make me high risk but it turns out that really wasn't the case.
Personally I'd just forget it, have your 20-wk scan and enjoy your pregnancy but I really do appreciate how hard it is xxx

If you could remember what whas your NT mesurment? And maybe you remember the risk you got on 12 week scan.I am in hell for a week now,my nhs risk was lije T21-1-5500 and patau 1-10000 Nt was 2.2
I soo regards that Harmony, but now I dont know is it mean smth is wrong or not.Low ff could be t13 or t18 but it is quite visible on scans.I will se consultant tomorrow he said he can do basic amino if I want but I wanna know if I need it,not just becouse I panicked

I wouldn't even consider an amnio with those results. You're really low risk. NT was 1.5mm and my risks were between 1 in 5000 and 1 in 6000 I think! Somewhere very close to that. Your 20wk scan will also be able to identify any problems (again obviously not 100%). The scientist at the lab was absolutely certain though when she said that low ff in no way correlates to anything being wrong. It's very common.
