...... Having never actually heard it, and only because I honestly cannot stand the X factor and the way there is no fun in the Christmas single race anymore

DH has bought it too, so it's not just me.

PS team cola to win.

Well iTunes then linked to Pearl Jam - and I haven't heard that album in years - dn't have it on CD. I will be reminiscing my youth tomorrow!

AgentZigzagDoingAYuleLog · 19/12/2009 21:19

The Beeb new site cleaned up the final repeated lines into...

"Since I believe police officers and law-makers to be institutionally corrupt, I see no need to follow their instructions."

Fkg brilliant

Yanbu! "Killing in the Name of" is a really good
song!

It bugs me that x factor is number 1 every single bloody year!

JingleAllTheWay · 19/12/2009 21:37

Little penguin. You really cannot be serious about the St winifreds choir rereleasing their song!! I am going to buy that too.

This is why the bloody x factor cannot have a monopoly. There are other songs too. Hooray for St winifreds!!

I just wish that this was a single this year, that would be an amazing Christmas No. 1.

Christmassy and so far from X-factor crap! And much better than RATM

pooka · 19/12/2009 21:55

Already own the original album. Am tempted to buy single again though just to avoid Xfactor bollocks at Christmas.

Portofino · 19/12/2009 21:59

Well this one should be no 1 every year in my opinion!

And seeing John Peel and David Jensen together like that makes me want to cry!

StealthPolarBear · 19/12/2009 22:02

we bought it but it was only 65p, is it the right version??
Probably won't ever download it though - wonder how many will be like that!

JingleAllTheWay · 19/12/2009 22:12

Omigod little penguin, you are right!!!!

I only mentioned St winifreds and they are back. I've even seen those woolly hats on smoothies!!

Am going to buy it.

I just bought in on itunes!

Down with X factor cheese.

snowedinwithJjandtheBean · 19/12/2009 22:41

YANBU!!

dp loves RATM but im simply downloading it to keep more commercialized SHITE from getting another christmas no.1

I HATE X FACTOR!

MeltedTreeChocolates · 19/12/2009 22:55

I downloaded it and I feel really guilty....

Joe is being punished for something that isn't his fault, whether or not he will be a big start really aint the point. It's a shame for the lad.

I don't want to like the song cos I aint too keen on the message but I loved it in my mid teens and I think it is a nostalgia thing.

persephonesnape · 19/12/2009 23:26

It's a bit juvenile IMO. Sorry! Oo! A 'bad' word at Xmas. I bought tim minchins White wine in the sun, because it's secular abd xmassy and name checks Richard dawkin. Which tickles my juvenile humour. .

persephonesnape · 19/12/2009 23:30

And 50% of the tim song goes to autism research. .

arisHOHOHOcat · 19/12/2009 23:31

when do we know if it has got to number 1 & beaten the x factor rubbish?

RockBird · 19/12/2009 23:47

Both songs are shite. If there was going to be a serious anti x factor bid then why not choose a decent track. Who the hell chose this tripe? Luckily I haven't cared what's in the charts since about 1994.

BitOfFunderthemistletoe · 20/12/2009 00:07

It does sound shite tbh. Not that I would buy Joe Doodah's track either.

cornysxmasmuffmusic · 20/12/2009 00:47

I feel sorry for Joe, RATM sounds juvenile and a bit sad to my aged self. I would rather be a granny and buy Joe's single. (Not that I am a granny or have bought his single)
