I'm genuinly interested in why you object to homosexuality, and everytime I ask on the other thread it gets lost in the general hubbub.

So - name change if you want, but please tell me what your objections are?

If it's because it's not natural or against biology, please expand your answer to include why you care about that.

Show your working for extra credit.

n.b. Don't bother if it's a religous justification, you'll need to find someone who believes in that kind of stuff to debate with as I'll just dismiss that out of hand. If you are a homopohbic religous person with a secular objection then please go ahead.

Once again on this thread, I just have this to say. Fuck.

tethersjinglebellend · 11/12/2009 19:31

So no blow jobs or bumsex for FlamingFedUp's OH then.

And actually, I'm not sure hands were designed for that purpose either. Filth.

Rindercella · 11/12/2009 19:32

directed at Flaming's post of 19:15, hopefully that was obvious

ItsIgginningToLookALotLikeXmas · 11/12/2009 19:34

Flaming, gay people feel attraction for people of the same sex. I don't know about you but for me being attracted to someone is a strong physical and emotional response - the questions of where we might put our bits together comes way down the list.
It's strange that you reduce all of sexuality to the act of intercourse - surely the least interesting bit of it.

cory · 11/12/2009 19:34

the mouth is pretty choc a bloc with bacteria and there is no reproductive benefit to kissing: when can we get a ban on this disgustingly unnatural practice?

tethersjinglebellend · 11/12/2009 19:35

Oh, and sex toys.

And sexy underwear.

And make-up

And contraception.

All abnormal sexual practices...

Bet it's fun in your house, FlamingFedUp

MsDoctor · 11/12/2009 19:38

Nobody has tolerance for intolerance, just pity and .

"Well, umm a man has a penis, a woman has a vagina and in most circumstances they fit together and the participants are joined together in a blending of profound emotions (well should be) and pleasure. The reason it is pleasurable is to aid procreation of the species as with the pain of childbirth, women would never go near another man's dick if it was'nt nice hmm. The emotion part of it should keep them together to raise their offspring. The anus is an orifice for waste from the body and such has more bacteria in and around it than the vagina, is not designed for an object to be inserted but is designed for expulsion of faeces which is why a healthly plop is shaped like a penis if you look at it carefully!!"

Ok Flaming, lets look at this rationally. If you beleive this to be true, then anyone incapable of having children, or those that choose not too, shouldn't have sex? If its all about procreation, then they shouldn't.
Also, as PP's mentioned, straight couples shouldn't have bumsex or oral sex? Because that doesn't fit in your theory.
Is contraception un-natural too, and should be avoided?

GENUINE QUESTIONS by the way, would really like to hear your opinion.

nannynobnobs · 11/12/2009 19:38

My dds came with my DH and I to two civil ceremonies last year. They were not the slightest bit perturbed. One was my DH's very good male friend who has been more of a 'mum' to him than his own trainwreck mother; the other was my auntie who is a year older than me. All I've told my dd1 is that sometimes men like men and women like women, and it's all perfectly fine. She's never been troubled by any of it.
FTR they were two of the happiest, most relaxed, pleasant, fun wedding parties I've ever attended.
Homophobia has no place in modern society at all. People are people. Why is it a big deal who they choose to sleep with?

What a joyous thread for a lesbian to read.

So OP doesn't see the point of lesbians. I guess I'll just have to live with that. Actually, reading some of these comments just makes me tired and disinclined to engage at all.

The one thing I will say is how despicable I find the stuff about butch lesbians. Butch lesbians are the absolute antithesis of what women are told they have to be in our society. As it happens, I am not butch and neither is my dp, but I truly honour the guts and courage and passion it takes to be a butch lesbian. I take my hat off to them - and all women should.

mumblecrumble · 11/12/2009 19:51

Willies are also used to excrete waste....

ItsIgginningToLookALotLikeXmas · 11/12/2009 19:55

..and vaginas for that matter.

MeltedTreeChocolates · 11/12/2009 20:00

Will answer that Q tomorrow pooexplosions. Don'thave time tonight. Off to parents.

mumblecrumble · 11/12/2009 20:04

True, 'butch' women. Hate that term. Cos you're only feminine if you have acertain look?

pooexplosionsonthedustyroad · 11/12/2009 20:07

thanks melted. have fun!

On the 'liberal fascists' point - the thing is, MN is a place where 'liberal' social attitudes are in a sound majority, and so we perhaps feel more free to express them on here, in a more emphatic way.

Out there in real-life Britain, people come out with homophobic/racist/anti-immigrant claptrap all the bloody time, and as a lone liberal I rarely feel able to tell people just how much crap I think they're talking. So threads like this on MN have a cathartic function for a lot of us I think - we're not just abusing the homophobes on this thread, we're abusing all the homophobes we've ever had to endure in silence.

On a further point - every now and then someone trots along to tell us that instead of telling homophobes and racists to fuck off, we should 'engage' with them. This form of 'engagement' only ever seems to be a synonym for 'agree with' or 'endure in polite silence'. There is no meaningful way to engage with people who've decided to adopt an attitude of hate-filled ignorance. At least the response they get on threads like this might shame them into silence - because why on earth should the rest of us have to listen to this bilge?

ooojimaflip · 11/12/2009 20:17

Flame - No extra credit for you I'm afraid - this seems to be the argument from nature again. Why does a behaviour being natural or unnatural make any difference to how someone should behave?

ooojimaflip · 11/12/2009 20:22

Hester - Flame is the OP of the thread that sparked this thread. I am the OP on this thread. TBH though I don't see the 'point' of Lesbians either - as I don't see that sexuality is the kind of think that has a purpose as such.

OP posts:
ooojimaflip · 11/12/2009 20:26

policywonk - I certainly don't mean 'engage' in the sense of 'agree with' and 'endure in polite silence'.I mean engage in the sense of asking them to explain their reasoning, rather than just slagging them off.

OP posts:
daftpunk · 11/12/2009 20:27

policywonk;

no one is going to shame me into silence...because i have absolutely nothing to be ashamed of....

if i don't want my children exposed to homosexuality that's up to me, i am in control of my childs life, no liberal is going to tell me how to bring up my children ....if i don't think homosexuals should get married and have children....i'll say so..

because this is a free country...and no one tells me what to think..

noddyholder · 11/12/2009 20:29

ooooh

FlamingFedUp · 11/12/2009 20:31

Just a couple of points to clarify as I did not want to make the last post too long so perhaps did not explain myself as clearly as I should have.

Pooexplosions - 'Why do you think you are an expert on human biology vis a vis homosexual practice?' Am not of course, this is just my PERSONAL OPINION and no amount of heckling will change that as I would not expect anyone with the opposite view to change theirs to suit my sensitivities.

Cory - 'the fact that a plop (to use your terminology) is shaped like a penis is proof that it is wrong to insert a penis into the anus? logic?' The intestines are long and thin, so of course compacted faeces are going to be that shape. That does not give credence to the point earlier in this thread that dicks and dildos are designed to be shoved up there.

Tethers - 'So no blow jobs or bumsex for FlamingFedUp's OH then. And actually, I'm not sure hands were designed for that purpose either. Filth.' Again my personal opinion is that fallatio and cunnilingus are products of the evolution of the human mind and we were not designed to do that (although it is very enjoyable and DH is serviced when he's good) and as human's are naturally after instant gratification in all areas of our lives, it has been a natural development although I can't imagine neanderthal man doing it, that would have been unpleasant - no baths! The same can be said for sex toys and dressing up/bondage.

It was asked for dissenters to expand on their views on natural and biological areas so there it is.

Again - can I just point out that consenting adults can do what they want - I DO NOT consider homosexuals as inferior to me. I just do not want my DCs to be educated that it is 'natural and normal'. Just as I do not want my DCs educated in religion that shit things that happen in life are 'Gods will' and that they are contributing to the end of the world if their parents drive them to school, and that they will die of obesity if they eat a bar of chocolate at playtime.

Feel free to disagree or be offended as you please .

ooojimaflip · 11/12/2009 20:31

daftpunk - have you thought about my 11:37 question?
