I'm genuinly interested in why you object to homosexuality, and everytime I ask on the other thread it gets lost in the general hubbub.

So - name change if you want, but please tell me what your objections are?

If it's because it's not natural or against biology, please expand your answer to include why you care about that.

Show your working for extra credit.

n.b. Don't bother if it's a religous justification, you'll need to find someone who believes in that kind of stuff to debate with as I'll just dismiss that out of hand. If you are a homopohbic religous person with a secular objection then please go ahead.

policywonk;

"no one is going to shame me into silence...because i have absolutely nothing to be ashamed of....

if i don't want my children exposed to homosexuality that's up to me, i am in control of my childs life"

so if you decide your child is not to be exposed to the time tables you can ban the teacher from mentioning it? because you are in control of your child's life?

pooexplosionsonthedustyroad · 11/12/2009 20:32

no-one can tell you what to think, but you are not in control of your childs life and thoughts, and you absolutely cannot prevent them from being exposed to homosexuality.

Which is good for them, and a big kick up you bigoted behind!

ijustwanttoaskaquestion · 11/12/2009 20:36

no policy, no one will shame DP into silence - cos she has no shame

Flaming?? I think you need help luv - im only looking at the quote from pooexplosions, but you have just said that healthy poos look like willies if you look closely enough?? What? so you examine your poo closely then? Sure sign of madness you know!!! (that and homophobia!)

Its iggingtolookalotlike....actually vaginas are not designed for waste desposal, that is the urethra that happens to be next to the vagina!! See, im not even a lesbian and i know my lady garden really well! So maybe lesbians don't want to have to suck mens willies as its the hole they wee out of!!!! Theres always that way of looking at it??

Actually - if the not natural argument is to be accepted, any homophobe on this thread who indulges in bum sex and cock sucking needs to fuck right off really because that aint natural - well it can't be can it, because you dont need to do that to make babies, in fact, anyone who has sex other than for procreation better shut up too - i mean, eeeeeewwwwww why would you do that??

FlamingFedUp · 11/12/2009 20:37

Policy - Was going to leave the thread but have to say this. What makes YOU so special that anyone who thinks differently to you is talking crap. Of course I'm a racist and xenophobe of well, I am also evil and should be sent to hell in a handcart .

Why should'nt YOU fuck off??

oh lenin, dont go!!!

I would actually be really interested to hear about your lifestyle choices, DP is a closet lesbian anyway, she only says things for the sake of being offensive.

pooexplosionsonthedustyroad · 11/12/2009 20:40

Hope you're feeling ok Lenin, sorry you've been upset

I wish I was still a lesbian, if it meant I was half as eloquent and dignified as you've been.

Grubbyfoot · 11/12/2009 20:40

Well, here's the problem: The stupid homophobes (the majority I would hope) cannot answer because they would be unable to express their unevaluated emotional reaction in a quantifiable, logical manner.

The brighter homophobes know it's all bullshit. Unnatural? Plenty of homosexuality in nature. God's gonna get us? Oh please.

On the other hand we have to be a little patient with homophobes. They can be homophobic in the privacy of their own homes, (provided no children are about to be corrupted of course) and that's their right. They are a dwindling (though vocal) breed, and shall not last.

A mental exercise to understand homophobia better: Try to think of a reason for banning bestiality that can't be used against drunk homosexuals.

ooojimaflip · 11/12/2009 20:41

All the Liberals - Do you think that Homosexual sex is natural? It seems to me that what is happening is that we are allowing those espousing Homophobic views to dictate the terms of the debate. A lot of energy is being spent defending the naturalness/evolutionary usefulness etc. of Homosexuality.

Nobody has explained why any of these things matter in the first place.

LG you are better than this thread and shouldn't even dignify her with dialogue.

Lenin, I think you've conducted yourself with a lot of dignity under extreme provocation

pooexplosionsonthedustyroad · 11/12/2009 20:44

I think it is as natural as any other kind of sex, but I also think that natural or not is completely irrelevant, and that even to define natural is a matter of conjecture.
It just is. You are gay in the same way you have red hair, or a big bum, or in dp's case a microscopic brain located up your arse. It just is, and its completely irrelevant to anything or anyone, or should be.

Horton · 11/12/2009 20:45

I'm always astonished that anyone has the time or energy to care what anyone else gets up to in bed, particularly once they have small children and no time to do anything at all. Seriously, I don't understand why anyone would care. If you love someone else in the world and they love you, then good luck to you and well done for raising the sum total of human happiness. Why on earth would anyone care what sex those people are? And why would you care about your children being told something that is a simple fact of life? I honestly honestly don't get it. Going to read the thread again now to try and understand but I think I'm just not made that way. What harm can loving another human being who is happy to be loved by you possibly do?

FlamingFedUp · 11/12/2009 20:45

OOOjimaflip - of course they matter. Any loving relationship involves sex. Are you saying that there are gays/lesbians out there in celibate relationships.

The sex part is what we 'homophobes' don't get. Any members of the same sex in sexless relationships are just 'friends' surely. Homosexual means having sex with the same sex does'nt it?

policywonk · 11/12/2009 20:46

ooj - I didn't mean you with the 'engage' stuff. But I do think, in general, that it's misguided to attempt constructive engagement with people who hold such views. Attempts to engage are presaged on the assumption that homophobes/racists are arguing from a well-informed or rational viewpoint. The truth (IMO) is that these people are arguing from an entirely irrational viewpoint, and are usually of less than adequate intelligence and/or education. They're on the losing side anyway (in our society at least) - best to regard them with pity and leave them to it (whilst telling them soundly to get knotted if they happen to say something disgusting).

MillyR · 11/12/2009 20:46

OP, I have to say that I agree with Policywonk that there is no way of engaging with people who make these hate filled remarks.

I don't think you have achieved anything worthwhile with this thread; it has simply given people an excuse to make these awful comments.

ooojimaflip · 11/12/2009 20:48

LG - sorry you've had enough - I started this as a genuine attempt to discuss without all the 'heat' in some of the other threads. It's not worked as well as I'd hoped, but I'll keep going a little longer.

I suspect it is easier for me to remain dispassionate as being straight, I'm not directly affected and don't have to put up with these attitudes in real life.

Ah come off it, now you're just winding us up! Of course there are gay people in celibate relationships! Does heterosexual have to include sex? Are there no heterosexuals in celibate relationships?

ooojimaflip · 11/12/2009 20:50

FlamingFedup - My question is why does it matter if something is natural or unnatural?

OP posts:
daftpunk · 11/12/2009 20:52

oooji; re; 11.27

yes, i believe man and woman were created to have children together and keep the human race going....our bodies are designed that way...when hetrosexuals are having sex...things happen in a womans body to help make pregnancy easier....sex between homosexuals is pointless, it's purely for pleasure.

homosexuality is a sin in the eyes of god.

TheHeathenOfSuburbia · 11/12/2009 20:52

flamingfedup

if you think policywonk was telling you to fuck off, I'd suggest you re-read her post more closely.

FlamingFedUp · 11/12/2009 20:53

Yes - Ooojamaflip - I am the only one to have answered your question and no one has given back any sensible debate - so what was the point?

Another chance for liberal hand wringers to shout down the unwashed, uneducated, ignorant 'phobes'. I am actually a Amoeba dontyaknow.

Feel better now do you.

pooexplosionsonthedustyroad · 11/12/2009 20:54

god has eyes, daftpunk? And you know your god thinks its a sin how? Please explain.
