Warning: contains link to a website full of selfish bridezillas worrying about how a woman breastfeeding at their wedding will ruin the day for them.

'natural term feeding' = BF until child self-weans

Jude68 · 18/07/2009 21:42

yes, i wondered what natural term fed meant?

Up to age 39?

(Still not getting the smilies!)

hunkermunker · 18/07/2009 21:42

Hahahahahaha at natural term bf being more for the mother!

Lovely little ill-informed prejudice - yes, of COURSE it's desirable to make small, strongwilled people with TEETH anywhere near your breasts against their wishes.

hercules1 · 18/07/2009 21:42

Well, yes. It is a penis.

Just like dd calls her vulva her vulva etc rather than front bottom.

hercules1 · 18/07/2009 21:43

No, 39 wouldnt be natural term breastfeeding. See my other post which explains.

Jude68 · 18/07/2009 21:45

I was referring to what word you might use to your partner Hercules...mmm...right. Penis...very sexy.

hercules1 · 18/07/2009 21:46

WOuld "willy" be sexier?

hercules1 · 18/07/2009 21:46

should I call his penis a "donkey sausage" instead? WOuld that be more appropriate?

AnarchyAunt · 18/07/2009 21:47

What's sexy got to do with anything? [baffled]

hunkermunker · 18/07/2009 21:47

Hang on, you call your breasts "boobs" to your partner because it's sexy?

And you call it boob milk?

And you're talking about bfing a 39yo?

And it's not you with the ishoos on this thread?

Jude68 · 18/07/2009 21:47

hunkermunker..who's in charge? You or your child? Do you allow them to have everything their way?
Stop up till midnight, have a dummy (oh sorry, they don't need one, they've got mammas boob) till their 18?
If you don't want to breast feed, just stop..most of us manage it without being terrorised and bullied by a toddler!

hercules1 · 18/07/2009 21:49

You really have very little knowledge or understanding of breastfeeding, oops sorry, boob feeding.

Jude68 · 18/07/2009 21:49

Hercules, I was thinking more of cock.
Can i say "cock" without offending anyone?

hunkermunker · 18/07/2009 21:50

Why, thank you, Jude, for that devastatingly accurate estimation of family life chez Hunker.

Yes, it's just like that. Well done. Unsolicited advice much appreciated - I will think on my erroneous ways and change forthwith.

Alternatively, I will carry on being the parent, parenting responsively to my child's needs and setting appropriate boundaries.

Why do you assume that just because it's not all for my benefit, I'm wholly loathing it? How peculiar.

hercules1 · 18/07/2009 21:50

"cock"

Is that meant to be sexy?

AnarchyAunt · 18/07/2009 21:50

Hunker

Jude68 · 18/07/2009 21:55

I think i have got enough knowledge of bfing. I boob fed dd1 until she was 7 months exclusively. She wouldn't take expressed milk. She lost interest at this point and took a bottle. I also bf dd2 till 6 months when she also lost interest.
Would i have chosen have gone on longer with dd1? No, probably not...i was nursing at the time and working weird shifts and didn't want the hassle trying to fit feeds in round odd hours. With dd2 yes, I wanted to get to 12 months but she'd lost interest.

chegirl · 18/07/2009 21:55

Thank you for the explaination. I thought that was what it meant but I have not heard that term before.

I weaned DD and DS1 to ff at 6 mths. This was due to having to go back to work. TBH DD lost interest at this age anyway. DS didnt want to be weaned and it wasnt very nice doing it. I didnt feel I had the choice at the time but it was a bit .

DS3 stopped bf at 8mths. I didnt need to wean him but he stopped being interested as well.

Maybe my breasts/boobs/tits/baps are just not that interesting

I am of the opinion that any bf is better than none. I would rather a reluctant mum fed her baby for 3 weeks than not at all but if people wish to bf their kids after they are 18mth surely thats up to them isnt it?

hercules1 · 18/07/2009 21:58

Can you perhaps see that you actually know very little about feeding past the age you did? There are lots of people on mumsnet who fed past your arbitary cut off point and you might be suprised to learn that they dont do it for the reasons you assume.

hercules1 · 18/07/2009 21:59

last post to Jude.

expertinscunthorpe · 18/07/2009 22:00

Meh.

FairLadyRantALot · 18/07/2009 22:04

only read op...and must comment on link..fucking hell...it's a forum of total, complete idiots...what were you doing over there...

Jude68 · 18/07/2009 22:05

Maybe i just have boring babps then. Or maybe just averagely interesting ones as "most" breastfed babies are bored and done with titty but 12/18 months.
And you can see it from their point of view..there's a world of much more excting food and drink opportunities available than hanging on to mammas breast for a drink.
I maintain that if you really, really do not wnat to continue breastfeeding you'll find it fairly to very easy to knock it on the head.
It's neediness to on the part of the mother.

hercules1 · 18/07/2009 22:06

Jude - your spouting nonsense. MOst babies do not self wean at 12-18 months. Really, they don't. What are you basing your opinions on?

hercules1 · 18/07/2009 22:07

you're

"titty" -yuck again.
