I can't get into the old thread so I think we filled it up! I hope everyone finds the new one.

So nice, shiny new thread, nice shiny new AIBU.

AIBU to be jealous of my DH's correspondence with a stranger?

Pogle, I feel I ought to know yours but I'm not getting anywhere.

Maria, this isn't ringing bells at all now. Doh!

Ah, the Camomile Lawn - I'd forgotten that bit!

StripeyOss, are you the soldier son of a soldier son?

llandb · 12/05/2009 11:53

Mornin'! (just)

Stripey, a vague scratching on my memory prompts me to ask whether there is a knife involved... but this would be a different guess from Poledra's.

Skite moment, I managed to grow chamomoile from seed and it didn't get eaten by slugs! What actually survived my efforts has managed to survive thirst and neglect and returns year after year, but it's more of a raggged chamomile edge than a lawn. 'Course, for all I know it could regularly get et; I just don't notice as I've given up all hope of it doing anything but blending in a bit with the grass. Also, I hoped it would double as a source of chamomile tea, but I went and grew the bitter-tasting version

llandb · 12/05/2009 12:21

AIBU to wrestle a monster octopus - or perhaps it was a squid - for love?

(Wanted to do a Willard Price theme but can't remember much)

MoominMymbleandMy · 12/05/2009 19:27

llandb, another clue, pretty please?

Stripey, just a thought, have you been meddling with the Undying?

AIBU to take my teddy to university?

OP posts:
pollywobbledoodle · 12/05/2009 19:36

moomin you are if he is called aloyssius {sp?}, have you never been on the teddy naming threads! still have a bwandy alexander when you get there.

still an utter dead brain about the rest

Pogleswood · 12/05/2009 19:40

yes,more clues please llandb,and stripey!
Moomin,YABU,Aloisius will be fine at home!
I am obviously being too vague on mine but will plod on -I have found an old key with an odd ball attached - it smells funny when it gets warm...( am not villainous - angelic a more likely description though probably not accurate!)

llandb · 12/05/2009 21:07

Oh, the angst of it - does she even know I exist? And how can I hope to prevail when she's clearly besotted with the new guy on the block? She even sneaks outside at night to stroll with him!

pollywobbledoodle · 12/05/2009 21:49

llandb dh says are you sure that this is the first time she has been unfaithful....it might be oh,oh her seventh one....

llandb · 12/05/2009 22:37

Mmm... not that I recall - I doubt that her uncle would have let her. Mind you, her uncle wouldn't approve of her current beau (not manly enough for his liking) and yet she strolls with him!

I think the uncle would approve of me, though. But I'm just a nobody...

'Night all; the surge of visitors starts tomorrow!

StripeyOss · 12/05/2009 23:03

Nope.. to both, lol.

Another clue or two.

Not the undying.. but the 'never born'

A dagger marks the status of the hero, cast out from friend and family, once his like travelled in troops, but now they lead a solitary life.

Poledra · 12/05/2009 23:06

Oh poo! Thanks for letting me know - off to bed now.

MoominMymbleandMy · 12/05/2009 23:07

But Polly, Pogle, how would I establish a reputation for charming eccentricity if I leave Aloysius at home? No, he's got to come!

I need more clues on everyone's!

AIBU to think we should have done something with the hair and false teeth? It seems disrespectful to just leave them.

Night all!

OP posts:
llandb · 13/05/2009 16:19

I believe I need more clues on everyone's, too!

Now, here's my chance: this delightful young lady I'm obsessed with - she's said she'll marry me! Well, she didn't exactly say that... but she most decidedly said she would marry the person who saved her uncle from ruin. That'll be me, then.

MMJ, it's still the best thread ever.

Moomin, your hair and false teeth are ringing great big bells but I'm getting nowhere on this or any of the others. Llandb, don't suppose you'd divulge the lovely lady's name, would you? Or would that be a complete giveaway?

llandb · 13/05/2009 16:56

Ditto what CJ said!

CJ, sorry, I think that would give it away. But if I can salvage the gubbins of the thing that has a similar name, she'll be ever so grateful!

Pogleswood · 13/05/2009 19:47

AArgh ,I can't DO these! But at least you are all stll here - ,did think that by the time I'd elbowed DD,DS and DH off the computer the thread might've died!
My schoolboy has found a hidden room full of dead bees.
On a different note,AIBU to think dealing with school,my embarrassing parents, and slightly bonkers/annoying and severely fringed mates is enough to give anyone a nervy b.?

MoominMymbleandMy · 14/05/2009 00:27

Grrr...I am so stuck on all of these!!!But it is such an addictive thread, the best ever on MN.

It isn't just hair and false teeth. There's fur and feathers too, but I don't feel so bad about leaving them. And it isn't as though I'd have a lot of help...

OP posts:
MoominMymbleandMy · 14/05/2009 01:11

Oooh llandb, are you toiling hard for the fair lady's hand?!

OP posts:
pollywobbledoodle · 14/05/2009 09:57

llandb is her father to be found in a debtors prison?

moomin..you could skip seminars, drink to much, have a homosexual affair and be charmingly brilliant, perhaps....

stripey...i'm completely at a loss!

pollywobbledoodle · 14/05/2009 09:58

aibu to think that when someone dies after falling from a wall this should have a full police investigation?

MoominMymbleandMy · 14/05/2009 10:46

Good morning all!

Pogle, is your father fond of health food?

Polly, is there a lot of snow about? And you're quite right about Sebastian Flyte and Aloysius. But my current character could do with a bit of help on the hair, false teeth, fur and feathers, please.

OP posts:
llandb · 14/05/2009 12:02

Moomin, I certainly am! Won't she be delighted?

Polly, both her parents are sadly deceased; her uncle is her sole doting guardian. He's built up a fortune under his own steam, but alas, it's all on the rocks.

Pogle, would this someone be of rather full girth?

Need more clues from everyone else please (actually just don't have a clue).

Pogleswood · 14/05/2009 12:31

Afternoon all!

MoominMymbleandMy · 14/05/2009 12:39

Hooray llandb! Then you are the lovelorn, ship's engine salvaging Guernsey man with the peculiar name!

Polly, yes, if there isn't a lot of snow about, might it have been a bit foolhardy to perch on a wall, given your fragile state?

Pogle, the health food question referred to your second AIBU. For your first I'm going to make a wild stab and ask if you have a skeletal surname?

Further clue...I wish my eldest DS hadn't gone to look at the multi-coloured snow. Now I fear he may just be a pile of hair too (he had his own teeth)...
