I can't get into the old thread so I think we filled it up! I hope everyone finds the new one.

So nice, shiny new thread, nice shiny new AIBU.

AIBU to be jealous of my DH's correspondence with a stranger?

Pogle, I feel I ought to know yours but I'm not getting anywhere.

Maria, this isn't ringing bells at all now. Doh!

and moomin, i'm not a scamp, from my teens i have had the weight of the world on my shoulders..

MoominMymbleandMy · 19/05/2009 12:21

Afternoon Polly, I don't know who you are but I don't want to meet you on a dark night, or any other night, come to that!

Any chance of another clue?

I'm not Irene Forsyte any more but someone who's just had a big disappointment. The red silk for the dress was a birthday present...and she's ruined it!

pollywobbledoodle · 19/05/2009 12:43

but moomin,i wouldn't hurt you, i promise, the only one i killed was the sherriff and he deserved it....he killed the children, my partners and the german neighbour and drove my mum mad in the proccess...

my only other crime was public lewd behaviour with my partner...well we were under a tarpaulin but these rural sherriffs don't take to kindly to it ma'am...

pollywobbledoodle · 19/05/2009 12:44

moomin is she always trying to spoil things for you or does she just like to copy you a lot....

MoominMymbleandMy · 19/05/2009 12:50

Eeek!!!???

OP posts:
MoominMymbleandMy · 19/05/2009 13:26

No Polly, the dressmaker is not very good and a bit loopy, and she gets so excited when I visit that she makes even more of a mess of it.

I really and truly don't have a clue about your one, but I'm sorry for maligning your character. You are very hard done by and who could blame you for a spot of hi-jinks under a tarpaulin!

OP posts:
pollywobbledoodle · 19/05/2009 13:57

aah, is the dressmaker called kate?

MoominMymbleandMy · 19/05/2009 14:21

No, but my sister is. And she's the one who noticed I've got the dress on back to front! What a relief!

OP posts:
Poledra · 19/05/2009 14:26

Pogle, are you a very forgetful cat, by any chance??

Pogleswood · 19/05/2009 20:20

Hi Poledra, well done!(Was going to sit in the dark and think dark thoughts next!)Would you like to consider the problem of my Aunt?
I think she may not be related to me at all,it was different when we were on the farm...

Poledra · 19/05/2009 20:30

Pogle, I will have a word with my daughter - it will be alright in the end, you'll see. A mighty future is prophesied for you. And don't, for the love of the gods, start drinking like your grandfather - I cannot bear the smell

Poledra · 19/05/2009 20:31

PS the Mog one was dead easy as DD2 is currently Mog-mad, and I have to read one of the stories every night. Had just done 'Mog and Bunny' before I came on here

Pogleswood · 19/05/2009 20:38
Grin
SnowWoman · 19/05/2009 20:45

Nice one Pogle and Poledra, I get it now

haven't a clue about the others ....

pollywobbledoodle · 19/05/2009 21:32

sob, moomin i thought i had it and your character was nicholas nickleby but i would have needed a sex change..

my story was published posthumously....it was recommended recently by some chat show hosts

Poledra · 19/05/2009 21:36
pollywobbledoodle · 19/05/2009 21:39

....i saw you!

ps i would be the same if i got one of these, no chandelier would be safe!

MoominMymbleandMy · 19/05/2009 21:44

Good evening all! Someone tell me the auntie one please!

Polly, sorry, I don't think I will ever get your one either.

...I don't think I've even heard of sex changes! I am an innocent of 17 and I am off to my first dance in a dress that isn't quite as peculiar as I thought it was...

OP posts:
Poledra · 19/05/2009 21:50

The auntie one is the Belgariad series of books by David Eddings (and, given the clues, specifically Pawn of Prophecy, the first book). It's fantasy fiction. And, as you may have guessed, Poledra is the mother of Polgara, the auntie of Pogle's clues.

MoominMymbleandMy · 19/05/2009 21:51

Thank you, Great-Auntie! Worth a look?

OP posts:
Poledra · 19/05/2009 21:54

Weeellllll, given that I took my name from them, I think you can assume that I love them. So, taking into account that I am biased, yes, worth a look. I like the characterisation and the dialogure is quite witty. I would say, though, that the Belgariad is the best series (it's his first). He's a bit of a one-trick pony, and his other series get very same-y.

MoominMymbleandMy · 19/05/2009 22:00

Pawn of Prophecy is on the shopping list then.

I think I'd assumed your name was Cornish, because of the 'Pol' bit.

Did anyone else think Mog must have been eating something strange, and possibly illegal, that night?

OP posts:
Pogleswood · 19/05/2009 23:07

Poor Mog! Polly, yours sounds interesting..still completely baffled unfortunately!
AIBU to dislike my new brother in law? My sister seems happy...and he is very good wirh her little boy(surprisingly),but I have never liked him..

MoominMymbleandMy · 19/05/2009 23:14

Hmmm, somehow I feel this isn't going to turn out well. So, another clue, please Pogle!

OP posts:
Pogleswood · 19/05/2009 23:23

I think he has taken advantage of her fragile mental state..
