I can't get into the old thread so I think we filled it up! I hope everyone finds the new one.

So nice, shiny new thread, nice shiny new AIBU.

AIBU to be jealous of my DH's correspondence with a stranger?

Pogle, I feel I ought to know yours but I'm not getting anywhere.

Maria, this isn't ringing bells at all now. Doh!

OP posts:
MoominMymbleandMy · 19/05/2009 23:47

Bah! This is ringing a very, very faint bell but I definitely need lots of more help, please.

...I've never been to a dance before. My sister and I were so excited when we got the invitation...

OP posts:
Poledra · 19/05/2009 23:51

Moomin, I am so sure I know yours, but cannot place it! Must go to bed now, MN is such a thief of time....

MoominMymbleandMy · 19/05/2009 23:54

...I hope I can waltz properly...

Night Poledra!

OP posts:
Pogleswood · 20/05/2009 00:00

Aha! an invitation to the waltz,eh?
Must also go to bed - night, everyone!

llandb · 20/05/2009 00:12

'Evenin'!

So many pages to catch up on...

Terribly rude of me to launch in with my own question without taking the trouble to address anyone else's, but I'm in such a pickle. I'm really hoping you'll all tell me what I want to hear and that it will all be alright:

WIBU to send my DD to visit her grandmother all alone?

'Night, all!

MoominMymbleandMy · 20/05/2009 00:31

llandb! recovered from silent visitor, I trust?!
YABU, do you really trust DD to stick to the path?

Well done Pogle! I was getting a bit stumped at the prospect of coming up with another clue for that one.

Night all!

OP posts:
MoominMymbleandMy · 20/05/2009 12:39

Good afternoon!

AIBU to want to go outside?

OP posts:
llandb · 20/05/2009 12:53

Good point, Moomin' - she's awfully suggestible when Big Bad Wolves advise flower-picking

Depends what's outside - clues, please?

On a different note, AIBU to forbid my grandson from going into the forest?

Pogleswood · 20/05/2009 12:55

Afternoon!

Really Moomin, that's a bit vague! Can't you give us more than that?!

My brother in law is not really 'one of us' - a grammar school boy,not that that bothers me..

CJCregg · 20/05/2009 13:26

Moomin, really ... although I so wish I was one of those clever people who got clues like that just from one vague allusion ...

Are you a lab rat?!

Pogle, I'm intrigued but need to know more about your less-than-satisfactory brother in law.

pollywobbledoodle · 20/05/2009 13:52

moomin are you called natascha? [please be called natasha]

llandb yanbu if you remind her to check the teeth of anyone she meets

does everyone give up on my character...it's alright if you do, virtually everyone in his life did

MoominMymbleandMy · 20/05/2009 14:02

Sorry!

...My parents are afraid something dreadful will happen to me if I go outside. But I want to see the sun and feel the wind on my face.
We hate rats, CJ! But a pet mouse would be nice...

Polly, I've tried to cheat by googling, but I am rubbish at it. I'm quite sure I haven't read or even heard of your one, I'm afraid. I don't think I could forget an event-filled storyline like that.

OP posts:
MoominMymbleandMy · 20/05/2009 14:03

Oops, sorry, I'm not called Natasha!

OP posts:
MoominMymbleandMy · 20/05/2009 14:06

llandb, if your grandson takes a whole orchestra with him, surely that will scare away the wolf!

OP posts:
pollywobbledoodle · 20/05/2009 14:13

noooo! polly thinks maybe she has the wrong character as there are many in this novel....is the country at war?

pollywobbledoodle · 20/05/2009 14:15

moomin, maybe googling previously popular british chat show hosts and their recommendations might help with mine...

MoominMymbleandMy · 20/05/2009 14:27

...I don't think there's a war on. We haven't heard anyone mention one...

Off on the school run now, so I'll have a shot at Richard and Judy later if no one else does!

OP posts:
Pogleswood · 20/05/2009 14:29

Polly,I've tried googling and failed! better try again..
Moomin,do you live in Holland?

My brother in law has a reputation for bravery, and has been very successful in his present job - however in his previous job things were less straightforward..

Pogleswood · 20/05/2009 14:52

Ah,no war.....are you a little on the small side? (that's to Moomin,by the way)

MoominMymbleandMy · 20/05/2009 17:29

Clever Pogle! Yes, in comparison to a great, overgrown human 'bean', I am on the small side!

I am still finding your one tantalisingly baffling. Another clue, please.

Polly, I am so bad at this googling lark - I still can't find it!

AIBU to sell on this antique? It is genuine and the buyer got a bargain price, but I'm sure he's in for a very nasty surprise.

OP posts:
CJCregg · 20/05/2009 17:49

Moomin, that depends if you're going to leave the legs on it or not ... might fit in to the boot of the car easier without?

What was your bean one, please?

Am still struggling with the others too. I might not be here all the time, but I am thinking a lot.

pollywobbledoodle · 20/05/2009 18:20

ok mine was a quiet belief in angels by rj ellory. it was a dick and judy one. it was surprisingly well written and believable given the rather melodramatic outline i've given of the plot! mind you i've given the ending twist away now....

ah, moomin they never steal anything then.

MoominMymbleandMy · 20/05/2009 18:52

Polly, CJ, of course they don't steal. Human Beans are for Borrowers - like bread is for butter!

Ah CJ, there aren't any legs on this unusual and fine piece, but it did give me and the missus some sleepless nights...

At least I can console myself that I got the Richard and Judy bit right, Polly! Even if it was the only thing I got right.

OP posts:
Pogleswood · 20/05/2009 20:08

So is yours worth reading,Polly?
Actually,we first met my brother in law when he was the best man at my sister's wedding. His past does seem to follow him around - he was in the Police originally..

MoominMymbleandMy · 20/05/2009 22:53

Oh Pogle, I am clueless! Or rather, all the clues you've given aren't adding up to anything for me.

He'll be finding dead bees next!
