TYV. Ooh, was that Barbes then Marais? (or is Marais 3rd?) Did a brief stint in Les Halles as well. Lovely. But yes, plumbing of the 80s no loss at all.

cory · 17/04/2009 15:08

still- keep trying balloon: from the ashes of disaster spring the roses of success! (yess!)

cory · 17/04/2009 15:09

The Three Musqueteers on there, BLP?

theyoungvisiter · 17/04/2009 15:10

Marais is 3rd and 4th I think. I lived in the 4th bit (near Arts et Metiers).

Twas v nice... [nostalgic]

There were still a few I missed out as I couldn't get them Cory, that may have been one of them as I haven't read it for ages.

cory · 17/04/2009 15:11

I have been in correspondence for some time with a zoological institute who claim to do a delivery service. However, their customer service leaves a lot to be desired. Despite my clear specifications the goods they have been sending me are quite unsuitable to the purpose specified and have had to be returned.

Should I give up the whole thing as a bad job, or do you think I should give them one more chance?

salome64 · 17/04/2009 15:12

Ladies, please bear with me. I am the only ds of a very attractive woman, who keeps irregular hours but there is always food on our damask table cloth. trouble is, her mates have always treated me as a bit of a lap dog, which was ok when I was a kid. But now I am getting a bit uncomfortable with it. AIBU to want to hang out with girls my own age?

salome64 · 17/04/2009 15:14

Ah TYV. Yes, La nostaglie! I also had a fabulously marvellous boyfriend, who is now staggeringly successful at his chosen arty profession. Reader, why did I not marry him? Groan!

MariaCC · 17/04/2009 15:15

And TYV, don't forget to build in time to express every twenty two minutes or you'll probably need to turn yourself over to social services .

BestLaidPlans · 17/04/2009 15:16

Cory, try encouraging your DS to write to a pet shop, they may have something more appropriate, a puppy perhaps?

theyoungvisiter · 17/04/2009 15:16

Dear Cory,

Return the goods stating your reasons for dissatisfaction, and the zoo will be happy to send you a more suitable pet ad nauseum.

Although tbh I am a bit bloody sick of these children's authors who can't tell the difference between a zoo and a sodding petshop.

Yours sincerely

The Zoo

DH really wants us to start a family, but I want to wait.

I was not very clever at school, so AIBU in trying to study to make something of myself?

MariaCC · 17/04/2009 15:17

Cory - I think you'll find that given one more chance, they might get it just right and you'll be able to keep it.

tonybleh · 17/04/2009 15:18

AIBU: to be jealous of my friend/think he's had some rather hardcore plastic surgery. He's well fit, innit, despite going out all night drinking, partying and carrying on. I suspect that he may have been involved in the death of a young actress, but he's still as hot as he was 20 years ago?! Why won't he tell me his secret? Is it creme de la mer?

MariaCC · 17/04/2009 15:21

AIBU to think my DA is a miserable old cow? Just because she's BORING, doesn't mean I should have to go without the pleasures of playground equipment. I don't care what she says, I'm going out to play...

cory · 17/04/2009 15:21

I would take a look at his taste in art before I make a further commitment to this middleaged young man, tony

theyoungvisiter · 17/04/2009 15:23

Tony, try looking in his attic. He may have some drawings or pictures up there to shed light on the matter.

OP posts:
tonybleh · 17/04/2009 15:26

Correct!

I know this has been done, but:
AIBU for being SUPER annoyed with DH. I spend all day at home with his DCs, I've lost my looks and my sanity, only to find out he's been sh*gging their nanny?! He says his Dsis is coming to visit to talk to me about it, but TBH, I think I'm best off leaving him.

MariaCC · 17/04/2009 15:28

Tony - hmmm sounds a bit like Jude Law and Sady Frost....

cory · 17/04/2009 15:29

AIBU in sending my young relatives down with a bag of peaches to an acquaintance in the village this afternoon? They are such troublesome children, always running about and bringing mud into the house, I feel the influence of a staid correct middle-aged maiden lady would be just right for them.

tonybleh · 17/04/2009 15:31

I did think that as I was typing it, but it's not.

salome64 · 17/04/2009 15:33

Nobody fancy a bash at mine? sob.

And MMJ! still waiting!

cory · 17/04/2009 15:34

can you give us more details, salome?

MariaCC · 17/04/2009 15:35

Or mine... I'm starting to play quite recklessly on the playground equipment.
