OP posts:
salome64 · 19/04/2009 14:07

Indeed they are, Miss Brodie, indeed they are!

TheScatterGunApproach · 19/04/2009 14:08

I am desperate to leave my very dangerous job.

However the powers-that-be have decreed it to be a logical impossibility for me to quit!

Should I just make a run for it?

MoominMymbleandMy · 19/04/2009 14:10

And while we're on posh schools AIBU to be bitterly disappointed in my DD? We spent a fortune sending her to a convent school but now she's been expelled for starting to write a naughty book!

MoominMymbleandMy · 19/04/2009 14:15

Scatter, is there a catch in that?

salome64 · 19/04/2009 14:16

I'd throw a very convincing sicky for as long as possible.

Moomin, that aint Miss Parkin, is it? wild guess.

MoominMymbleandMy · 19/04/2009 14:44

Salome, no it isn't Miss Parkin but I can tell you the DD got a very frosty reception when the nuns kicked her out.

Watch chain...combs...I've read this! A long, long time ago. What is it?

Have to disappear for a bit.... don't forget my DDs - the dead one, and the expelled one.

salome64 · 19/04/2009 14:45

Would it have been a bit chilly in May?

MoominMymbleandMy · 19/04/2009 14:46

Well done Salome!

Pogleswood · 19/04/2009 15:13

Moomin(if you reappear) was your sadly deceased DD one of seven?

llandb · 19/04/2009 17:05

BestLaidPlans, I had already bought the watch chain! I was certain my DH would be delighted despite the chop. But as it turns out, you were right - 'twas as Moomin said with the tortoiseshell combs for my hair. (Moomin, don't tear your hair; I couldn't bear it since it took me so long to grow mine).

Itching to know who the other hair sacrificer is... the small one who had three sisters and turned down Gorgeous Wealthy Neighbour Bloke.

Moomin, does your dead DD have a Down Under connection?

llandb · 19/04/2009 17:16

Unless some very wise men can tell me how to grow it back quickly

MoominMymbleandMy · 19/04/2009 17:24

Pogleswood, llandb, you are very warm indeed! It can get very hot down there, I understand.

llandb, I will swap you the title of my hair sacrificer for yours - wasn't me who got the combs btw but someone altogether smarter.

:

AIBU to want to run away from my orphaned niece? I am trying to do my duty but she persists in being a ray of sunshine at me.

llandb · 19/04/2009 17:33

Oh, I had forgotten about the hair sacrifice bit! I'm sure if she'd married GWNB she could have really fritzed her cause, but those mittel-Europeans win hans-down for moral support.

bigmouthstrikesagain · 19/04/2009 17:36

AIBU ladies - to punish myself for my pegnancy (the result of an affair with a Man who clearly is not interested in marriage) - by leaving my nice middle class existance and secretarial job.

I am moving into a poky boarding house peopled by Prostitutes, jazz musicians and other beatnic types till my poor illegitimate child is born....

apologies if this has been done but I cannot begin to catch up with this fantastic fast moving thread!

llandb · 19/04/2009 17:39

Moomin, I wonder if you should be glad!

(Off to declutter things my ray of sunshine aunt keeps presenting me with)

llandb · 19/04/2009 17:44

Oh bigmouth, I think it will be good for your character and you might stop being so prejudiced againt men who are gaily-diisposed.

bigmouthstrikesagain · 19/04/2009 18:09

That is so true - I think my attitudes are a bit 1950's I need to get hep!

BalloonSlayer · 19/04/2009 18:14

Scattergun, I do hope the subject of your 13:44 post doesn't get his hopes up too much.

I think he may be reading too much into the letters he has received

TheScatterGunApproach · 19/04/2009 18:15

The woman I love loves another man. He is in prison under sentence of death.

I am giving serious consideration to swapping places with him, and dying in his stead, thus giving Dream Woman a lifetime of happiness.

Should I martyr myself? Or would it be a far better thing to leave them to it and find someone else?

TheScatterGunApproach · 19/04/2009 18:17

Hurrah Balloonslayer!

And those who got Catch 22.

salome64 · 19/04/2009 18:20

Bigmouth, if you can find a penthouse to live in, you will be on top of the world!

BalloonSlayer · 19/04/2009 18:25

Am that no one has got my 16:52 from yesterday OR my 19:33 from yesterday.

Actually I did the 16:52 pretty badly, but I was proud of the other one.
