Man urinating in park

Caramac045 · Yesterday 12:17

Maybe IABU because I feel quite unwell.
Dog still needed a walk. Thought there is a
bench around this hedge line, I’ll sit down for a bit. Not happy to see a man urinating up the hedge between the park and tennis club.
I didn’t feel comfortable to sit on the bench right by a man with his penis out.

I’m a mature woman who manages to not wee in the park.
This was a man probably in his 30’s, not an older chap with prostate issues. AIBU to think he should not have been doing this?

If someone does get caught short in a park they need to go deep into the shrubbery and try their best not to be seen by anyone.
I hope if he noticed you he looked embarrassed and sheepish.

There really needs to be more public loos though. It's a human necessity to need to go and if there's no cafes or anything anywhere near you've sometimes no choice but to go outside. Which isn't hygienic or dignified. And also obviously people flashing.

Not that I'm excusing him going next to a bench!

I simply don't buy this "when you need to go, you need to go" nonsense.
Short of having health issues, why would any grown up need to pee outside, in a public park or street or some such place? As usual, it's always men who encounter these odd scenarios of having to go. Have they no common sense to go to the toilet before leaving the house? I firmly believe they don't bother because they know they have the option of a wild piss, wherever they so choose.

I have had an outdoor pee, once, when on a hike. In the middle of nowhere, after 4 hours of walking in the opposite direction from civilisation. I still went behind a bush and had my husband shield me with a jacket, in case a sheep was appalled at me.

Also, I'm mid-40s and have never had to spit in the street. Another thing men seem compelled to do.

My older brother has prostrate problems, he's seems to get about a 10 second warning, otherwise he pisses himself.

I caught a man pissing in a bush a few months back. It was on a very well used cycle track close to school home time. I gave him a dirty look and he told me to stop looking as if I was in the wrong! There is a pub literally a 3 minute walk away he could have used but no he had to go in public in broad daylight.

As has been said it is strange that is never women who do this despite pregnancy and women having smaller bladders. It definitely seems to be on up as everytime I go on the motorway I see a man pissing at the side of the road.

Sally2791 · Yesterday 12:38

A sudden need to go is a real thing

IdentifyingAsAWoollyMammoth · Yesterday 12:39

Last time I saw someone peeing in the street it was a woman squatting down in a shop doorway around 8 pm.

IamnotSethRogan · Yesterday 12:42

I duno I've had a couple public wees. Always had a terrible bladder.

Our local supermarket closed their toilets. There is no where near by to go. My dad caught someone peeing in the bushes there and started giving him a telling off but he was so mortified and said he'd been holding and holding to get to the loos to find out they're shut, at which point my dad thought "yeah, fair enough".

That being said, every effort should be made so people don't see your bits.

Once I was parked in Lidl car park which was next to my son's school and was eating some Chinese snacks before getting my son. There was also an abandoned pud next to this car park and I noticed a drunk man walk up behind this pub right in my line of vision and start taking his nob out to take a piss against the wall. He saw me looking in horror with my food in my hand and decided against it (thank god)

Nincompoo · Yesterday 12:43

I can’t get upset about weeing in the wild, if you’ve got to go then you’ve got to go!

BUT - hide yourself in a bush!

@DearlyDiego

As a female, there have been a few occasions when I've been desperate and there's been no nearby toilet. People can try to prepare by using the bathroom beforehand - though there are times when I've done that and am still needing to go again sometime later, especially if I've had coffee.

I've taken a whiz outside in public before. I've done my best to be as discreet and out of sight as possible, of course. On one occasion I got amidst some trees; another time I squatted behind the car (our family's one) in an empty car park.

Prostate.

LittleGreenShoots · Yesterday 12:48

He should have been more hidden or used toilets if he could. But it's hard to know their circumstances- they could be homeless, out in delivery vans all day, UTI (men can get them too!). I can't judge too hard as my son was caught short at the park last weekend and I did direct him behind a remote tree rather than pack everything up and walk ten minutes home. It's only a little more gross than the dog wee already in the park and a lot less gross than the dog poo that goes on the grass imo.

WarmAleAndBlackLabrador · Yesterday 12:52

When you need to go, you need to go. We've been out for the day with the horses back in the day in the middle of nowhere, and it's sometime a case of chucking the reins to a friend while you go for a wild wee, man or woman, no one wants an uti. You at least have to have the dignity to half hide behind a tree to do it, unless you are a troll or pissed or both.

MidnightMeltdown · Yesterday 14:39

I’ve seen worse. Once a man stopped a few yards in front of me and did it right in the middle of the pavement! He was definitely either very drunk or on drugs.

gamerchick · Yesterday 14:42

We get young people shagging in our main park on the benches. More than once as well. It's very strange behaviour. Nobody cares anymore.
Id prefer wild wees

itsadlibitum · Yesterday 14:44

Men seem to think this is acceptable. I saw a bin man urinating against a neighbours fence a couple weeks ago. I imagine it’s difficult to access a toilet in their job, but a little bit of discretion wouldn’t go amiss.

HoneyButterPopcorn · Yesterday 14:47

I passed a man rummaging in his trousers on the high st last week. At least he turned his back on the pavement when he followed through. Boak. I assume he was peeing. 🤢

FlipFlopSocks · Yesterday 14:49

If this was a menopausal woman with a prolapse and incontinence the whole forum would be massively supportive. If he was choosing to wee right next to a bench then he either has medical problems and gets no warning or he's drunk. As OP didn't mention him staggering or hiccuping then it's reasonable to assume he has medical problems.

OP you are being very unreasonable to say he can't have any health issues because he was younger.

NoisyMonster678 · Yesterday 14:53

Urghhh.......Gross.......He should have tied it in a knott.

Yetone · Yesterday 14:53

YABU, people, especially men, can be caught short. He probably thought he was hidden enough. Dog owners let their dogs pee In park all the time.

PashaMinaMio · Yesterday 14:55

I saw a man pissing against a Mercedes in a car park. Broad daylight.
I was sat in my car reading the paper, but he hadn’t noticed me. I was in full frontal view of his activity.
Steam rose in the freezing cold crisp winter air.

He then strolled back to his own car where his family awaited & off they went.

I did have to wonder what his problem with Mercedes was?

Love the detail about Chinese snacks

Friendlygingercat · Yesterday 15:19

People wee in strange places. I used to manage a library and one day a male reader weed in a corner behind the shelves. A woman who saw it was pretty shocked and quite embarrassed at having to tell me. However the man had already left to there was nothing to do but get the janitor to clean it up.
