AIBU to want to express support for women who were assaulted at a political conference?

To want to send out support to the two women visibly assaulted at a political conference.
I am concerned about the other protesters too and actually anyone who was hurt. But having to listen to jeering from the podium plus the crowd chanting in live TV at the same time must have been so traumatic and the publicity will die down and coverage move on but that can't be easy. Just want to send love and support.

She didn't pretend to be a Reform member, she paid for the membership and had been a member for a few years.

She was at the previous conference to protest and her membership was not taken away. She was also invited by her local Reform leader to discuss getting involved more.

Protesters at party conferences is nothing new.

Being assaulted like that is.

Yes, that's right, they were asking about the £5m. And yes, to be fair, I would be surprised if they didn't also feel, as so many of us do, that Reform are a racist and objectionable party.

But how do you get from that to the idea that I said that it was provocation? We do seem consistently to have a bit of trouble with words and definitions here.

You don't get to silence women in this way.

You read “[she was there] to make a very clear objection to the racist and violent rhetoric that Reform are putting out” as “[she was there] to provoke”. That suggests you see clearly objecting to Reform’s rhetoric as a provocation to violence. Maybe you didn’t mean ‘to provoke’.

Isn't it funny how the same people (rightly) complaining about Zach Polanski reposting that slideshow with a t-shirt of Nigel Farage and a guillotine (if I remember the exact detail correctly) think it's fine to beat a woman?

Ironically, the grooming gang men would also say that they care deeply for the wellbeing of the “right type of woman.” But for women they don’t approve of, they believe that righteous people like themselves can do whatever they want to them.

The parallels with what happened at the Refrom conference are pretty clear. Reform has no issue with beating up the “wrong type of woman.” And that was in public! Imagine what happens in private.

Both awful. From a voter perspective though, it supports my personal conclusions. Zach Polanski is a juvenile graduate of sixth form politics. I agree with most of what Farage and Tice say, but their wider movement just seems to whiff of thuggery that they can't shake.

This is just a response that deflects from the very serious matter that is being discussed, how that relates to Reform principles and as a party as the Telegraph has pointed out that this party is "not a decent party for decent people". No ifs not buts, this violence against a woman from a man and then Jenerick belittling her with his "Boo Hoo" comment in his Sky News interview, clearly indicates a terrible set of values, a worrying set of values!

Not a Reform supporter but a paid up Reform member.

And yes she has done this before, Reform had her badge and membership number but didn't expel her.
