It was intolerable what she said on This Morning last week.
And now what she's saying today by way of defending herself is even further intolerable.

Presumably she’s just trying to wriggle out of the consequences of what she said under the cover of being open minded or something like that

I was under the impression that Miriam had mimicked Christine's accent but it was Andi. But I don't think she was being racist at all. She was just clumsy, after all she's pretty old and believe me I have older friends who would never say that everyone is welcome! Even if she did add the footnote that there were a few who wouldn't be. High yella may be considered to be offensive now but originally it was intended as a statement that you were of high status. She just sounded genuinely interested to me, albeit without a filter.

She was born in 1941 not 1841. Even if it wasn’t meant insultingly it was a phrase rooted in colourism. It’s unacceptable and frankly weird to use it as a British woman in the 21st century.

We use it all the time of course when annoyed with someone who's behaved foolishly, but its original meaning was to describe a person who had an intellectual disability, I'm not sure when it stopped being formally used for that. Probably the 1920s when the term 'lunatic asylum' was phased out!

I am centric, and neither right nor left, and I find her repugnant, I know several right leaning people who think she is disgusting. None of them cheer her on.
