To find the Corporate Dad in the Med look kinda attractive?

You know the type - past the tiny kids era, so maybe 40 plus. Moans about choosing the holiday but once here's there he loves it.
wheels out a straw trilby that he thinks is beachy, crew clothing polo - collar popped , and patterned swim shorts (maybe featuring a lobster design)
slight paunch. Good legs.
Will be prevailed upon by his 12-year-old daughter to get an ill advised bracelet from the place they're in. Was given a leather one for 40th but can't remember where it went.
retires to the beach bar at 12 to check his work emails without the family seeing. Gets a beer as soon as is respectable

I love this guy. He's so predictable

I shall go and adore the spectral, fierce and gentle, dancing men of the lands of long summer days and little sunlight.

Perhaps to sort out the world, women-led migration should be encouraged, based on assessment of summering men and tropic movement towards or away from them.

Corporate dad looks like the kind of man who unconsciously writes less-good references for 'females'. Jack has initiative. Jill is industrious.

Absolutely nailed it.

Yep, Factor 50 and burnt after spending an unusual amount of time out of the office.

DH should stick to twilight really.

Twilight and air con

YANBU OP!

This man is predictable, dependable, appropriate and charming.

I feel 'appropriate' is a really low bar to set, though.

Bit rude.

Christ alive, do we even have to #bekind to people who are fictional and AI-generated now?

I think I've come to the conclusion that, in general, I find it quite hard to find men attractive once they're dads. Maybe this is why I've never wanted children. As soon as I see men doing parentish things I just find them strangely sexless.

Obviously I still find them likeable - I'm not a complete monster - just not shaggable.

I thought maybe it was because just above, a poster had said the AI looked like her own husband?

We need a reference photo to adjudicate 👀

I dunno, looking at some of the threads on here...... 😂

This guy would do a pretty respectful Best Man speech, I think. Maybe some allusions to drunken university evenings with Rugby Soc, but nothing too grim

I once made a holiday bingo card - there was definitely a version of 'Corporate Holiday Man' on it. I think he's often seen at breakfast having come straight from the gym and sporting a 'Basingstoke Triathlon 2019' t-shirt so that everyone knows he's keeping up with his fitness routine even though he's away.

@Pssedoffathis - My LinkedIn feed is the same - hundreds of wannabe thought leaders posting drivel along the lines of 'Taking time off is so important to recharge and recalibrate. Whilst on holiday with loved ones I found myself reflecting on the need to stay curious, be mindful of the things that are important, embrace new experiences and consider...' Usually with a picture of a sunrise.

Question: does this corporate dad buy his own clothes (👍) or does his wife assemble his wardrobe (👎)?
I'm enjoying the descriptions, but I feel this essential variable hasn't been considered 🤔

I think he will try to, but it will be a little bit like those weidx AI T-shirts from instagram
oh, he will go to bicester shopping village and buy one that's quite reduced for a certain reasonv and it's too small

Has someone kidnapped my DH?? Although in fairness he doesn't do a trilby but has been forced into a bucket hat to protect his baldy bit 😊

Megsdaughter · Today 14:50

@iCod We are going on holiday 1st week in September. I asked DH what he was packing. You just described his suitcase.
I have ordered him some new Tshirts and shorts. 😆
He would still be wearing the same ones in 10 years time if not. If I ask him to buy his own he always says 'what should I buy' so I just bypass asking him now. He has no interest in clothes whatsoever.
He is not a corparate Dad though. More a Prison Officer Grandad whose 10 year old Grandaughter will wheedle whatever she wants out of him just as the older one did.

Hi Cod I havnt seen you on for ages. I was Shosha back in the day.

Has a comfortable old leather wallet.

Will have a posh watch, but it's an undercover practical posh watch, not a tacky brand.

Usually gets points for things, is a member of things, can expense things etc,, to smooth the cost of the holiday.

Uses little understated local snippets of language without succumbing to feeling like an ignoramus. Just enough to get by without looking like a fool, but somehow done well.

Doesn't need to 'get a tan", is already inconspicuously semi tanned year round. Orders nice or unusual things from the menu with smooth alacrity.

Is he single? 👀

I love this sort of man

So much this. Can he wear a linen shirt with turned up sleeves in the evening?

Yes !
probably a bit too sheer

My version of corporate Dad is in better shape, with dark hair, slightly grey around the edges, expensive(ish) smartwatch, underarmour shirts and probably FatFace swim trunks. Ultra confident and a bit too bossy and controlling with his wife and kids. Gets up early for a run then sits by the pool checking his emails and reading books written by James Smith or ex SAS soldiers. Wife is absolute stunning and perfect children.

Santorini is full of families exactly like this.
