To find the Corporate Dad in the Med look kinda attractive?

You know the type - past the tiny kids era, so maybe 40 plus. Moans about choosing the holiday but once here's there he loves it.
wheels out a straw trilby that he thinks is beachy, crew clothing polo - collar popped , and patterned swim shorts (maybe featuring a lobster design)
slight paunch. Good legs.
Will be prevailed upon by his 12-year-old daughter to get an ill advised bracelet from the place they're in. Was given a leather one for 40th but can't remember where it went.
retires to the beach bar at 12 to check his work emails without the family seeing. Gets a beer as soon as is respectable

I love this guy. He's so predictable

Do people post about kids on linkdin? Thought it was being excited about a new job or quarterly targets in EMEA

@GotANewFrockTooFuckingFat I think that might get me arrested though. 😬

😂I actually meant you could generate it on AI, rather than sneaking around your holiday resort taking pictures of 40-odd year old men with paunches 😂

I hope we all know why this is so well written. This is Cod - MN royalty. In briefly from Twitter (still won’t call it …)

Hiya Cod!

How do you know it's Cod?

Edited to add - I didn't see the username!

KidsDoBetter · Today 10:25

I always wanted a semi tanned English holiday husband with very old faded pink linen shirt and good legs. Instead I had a freckly tubby Irish guy who never looked good on holiday (sorry ex!)

Upgraded to a tanned slim English fella who looks great in swimwear / shorts. Doesn’t quite have the full corporate dad in Ile de Re or Kefalonia vibe you describe though. No kids for a start. Do love that look if done well.

Yes. It's terrible.
The last few weeks, my feed has been full of people posting about their kids' graduations. No-one fucking cares.

It makes me miss the absolute nonsense, clearly made-up posts about B2B sales.

Each to their own but Corporate Dad is not for me; he's my age bracket but I'd find him painfully dull and generic.

Ditto - we call these men "Brown shoe dads" in my house.

Leopardspota · Today 10:28

Does this dad have a Gant half-zip ready to wear in the evening if it gets chilly?

also has he packed 85% of his wardrobe but will wear the same ‘daytime’ outfit for 3 days? (I hardly wore the t-shirt, I was by the pool!)

were his swim shorts cool in 2010, even though he has a nice pair that were bought for him, but can’t bring himself To believe quicksilver went out of fashion? (Although it’s back with the kids!)

If so this is my husband in a few years (kids are younger, but could definitely persuade him to buy a bracelet).

Oh god. I’m so bored of it. Graduations and also posts that shoehorn in a few holiday pics and waffle about how the 10 things they learnt About themselves while recharging in the Algarve.

Lararoft · Today 10:33

Well I’m a 49 year old woman, went to Kefalonia in June, but I was actually looking at the fit 30 something Greek men, sorry!

I think your draw here is that it isn't someone wearing plastic based clothes out of their face on booze, blasting music from a phone and turning lobster red with blisters. That's about 80% of British males I see at touristy holiday resorts. Many things look better than this. Usually the feral animals...

this is my husband minus the hat 😬😂

I think when the kids were younger they used to go to Padstow, and the whole family wore FatFace every day and monopolised every space they entered, especially in cafes where they would have loud conversations about which of the children had had a poo that morning and the wife would be passive-aggressive with Corporate Dad because when he went to the counter and ordered, they didn't have the chocolate brownie his eldest wanted, so he got them a cookie instead but they won't eat that, and he should have known Amelie doesn't like foods that are round.

He does like a brown shoe and likes to demonstrate some of his personality through his choice of swimming shorts.

Do you know what though he’s funny, incredibly clever, steady and dependable and absolutely drama-free and I am HERE for it 😍

Probs less so now. Back in the halcyon days of 2008 certain posters gained quite significant cult following
Blimey, I remember those days well!
It got quite ridiculous.

Enfrancais · Today 10:46

I'm on the French Riviera and he is definitely here. Navy Ralph Lauren polo and beige chino shorts. Definitely hot in my old age. Always loved a be-flip flopped man. Sadly I am an old, pink, fat, sweaty mess and wouldn't do.

CreativeGreen · Today 10:49

Sort of like Hugh Laurie in The Night Manager, but not evil?

I think I am the female version of this. Paunch with good legs and all.
I have my old Ibiza sunglasses and Haviana flip flops packed actually for our holiday this weekend and was planning to take my laptop. DH is a stay at home dad though so I am he and he is she.
DP also chose and booked the holiday, I am there for the ride and to provide the funds.
i actually have a 13 year old too who will no doubt persuade me to hand cash out of my wallet for random trinkets.
its funny as DP actually looks the part too but in reality I am the ‘corporate dad’ with the wallet.
he is older than me and people always assume I am the gold digger but in reality I fund the whole shebang, including paying for his Lacoste polos and matching shorts.
