Neighbours having a karaoke party

The neighbours directly behind us have been having a karaoke party since about 6pm. It’s been fine up until now, and it’s suddenly ramped up a notch and they’re drunkenly screaming. We can hear it with the window closed, but it’s too hot to have the window closed anyway!

My partner has just had surgery and we both hoped to get some decent sleep tonight but it’s not going to happen now, is it?!

Every so often the microphone screeches with feedback too. AIBU to go around and say something?

Do you live near me! Had to close my windows but thankfully they eventually retreated inside presumably to watch the football.

I'm a miserable shit and generally hope it starts pishing with rain from around 8pm every evening 😆.

It’s 11:20 at night. I understand it’s a Saturday but that’s no excuse to keep the whole street awake! If they could sing it would be one thing, but they really can’t.

If at all possible and I had the means to do it, I would record the whole thing and play it back to them, speakers against the wall, at full volume starting at 5 am. Every morning for a week.

If it's a one off I think you have to lighten up a bit. It's really not that late and it's Saturday!

I would think many people are up at this time on a Saturday.

We live in a really quiet area. As in, usually nothing after about 9pm. I just think it’s really inconsiderate to have a full blown karaoke going, outdoors, at 11:30 at night. Do it inside or, preferably, at a karaoke bar. Every time it sounds like it’s stopped they put on another song and get louder somehow.

Being awake is one thing. Being kept awake by a loud (bad!) karaoke party is another.

If it goes beyond midnight then I'd go round early in the morning and mention it to them.

About a month ago a house a couple of streets away had a party and they were all outside murdering 'Mr brightside' so I get how disturbing it can be.

Now they’re setting off the dogs because they’re that loud (not our dogs). People are shouting at them but it’s just making them laugh and turn the music up. I don’t really know if it’s worth me going down? It’s just unacceptable really

Over five hours of karaoke. Arggghh. I could not cope. YANBU

Stop stressing and calm down, as annoying as it may be...it sounds like a one off. Consider yourself lucky, some people have that everyday xx

It’s pretty impossible to calm down when you’re running on about six hours of sleep over the last two days because your partner has had surgery and has been in a lot of pain!

They’re awful singers too. Like awful. I wish I could post a video on here

I think you live on my street! The house opposite me have been blaring music since 6pm! And are now on karaoke. It's going to be a long night 🥱😩 was woken up last night by a group of teenagers singing california girls too!

If they murdered defying gravity at around 7:45, we could well be!

It’s one night of (annoying) summer fun/silliness. I could understand making an issue of it - if it was 1am.

But fuming at past 11pm on a Saturday night is unreasonable.

🤣 not sure, but I definitely heard Alanis Moristte Ironic a while ago. Now it's tuna tuner! They're teenagers! It's an odd music selection, we've had rave, African, 90s.

Take it inside when people start asking you to be quiet? I’ve heard three or four people yelling out now. And each time they’ve turned the microphone louder and shouted down it. That’s antisocial.
