AIBU to be completely shocked at his appearance. I haven’t seen him on anything for a year or two and cannot believe his appearance at 55! I know that he supports equality so this is no different to posting about a famous woman’s appearance as has been done numerous times on here (see Nicole Kidman, Madonna, Ariana Grande, Katie Price). Hope he is ok:)

I think it's just the shaved head. It can really schock if you are not used to it

He's been knighted and will become a hereditary peer.

I don’t understand this as Labour were the ones that abolished hereditary peers.

TBF I don't like the man but I don't think he's been made a hereditary peer.

But being only a life time peer is a passport to daily payments for life. So like an extra big pension in some respects.

He’s not becoming a hereditary peer. He’s becoming a life peer. It’s exceptionally rare for non-royal hereditary peerages to be created - I think the last one was in 1984.

He will be a life peer won't he? There are no more hereditary peers. His peerage won't pass to his oldest child when he dies.

I wouldn’t think so in his case, as you have to attend per day to get it (per day), and he is staying in his job.

So his hair has grown back, but he is very very thin. Seeing videos of him at the events he looks very vibrant and perky and well. He has lost a lot of weight and I think he had a heart attack or something a couple of years ago, but he obviously wants to keep it private

I think he's okay. He still goes running, maybe every day I think.

If he’s been to Mecca, might it be a combination of travel, hot weather, unfamiliar food etc? Whenever I am not in western countries I lose weight quite easily due to these things and not being there long enough to acclimatise.

Combination of temporary head shave and the fact that he has lost weight - he seems to be on a health and exercise regime, running, long distance cycling etc

I've noticed this too in the last year or so. The job must be a huge strain and he gets a lot of hate online. He does manage fitness and fasting for Eid so I hope these are signs that he is in reasonable health at the moment.

I was surprised as well when I saw him a few weeks ago and it isn't just his shit he looks gaunt and very different but hopefully nothing's wrong.

Reform of the House of Lords has been going on since 1911, and it was the Liberals, not Labour, who began it.

And yes, I was concerned for Sadiq Khan's wellbeing when I saw that pic.
