AIBU to be completely shocked at his appearance. I haven’t seen him on anything for a year or two and cannot believe his appearance at 55! I know that he supports equality so this is no different to posting about a famous woman’s appearance as has been done numerous times on here (see Nicole Kidman, Madonna, Ariana Grande, Katie Price). Hope he is ok:)

Nobody, which is kinda the point. They are elected to the house by dint of the fact the outgoing PM has just nominated them.

The outgoing PM of a party which has been banging on for the thick end of a century about the fact the HoL is an anachronism, an affront to democracy, and requires serious reform if not outright dismantling.

Doing a great job of that by just perpetuating the absurdity.

I hope he’s not. Maybe his conscience is getting the better of him. Maybe his incompetence and ineptness is making him ill maybe all the lies he’s told are catching up with him and he’s just too worried about his future.

If the plan for peers to have to attend 20% of the time or not be able to be in the Lords comes to pass, I cannot see how he can fulfil both being London Mayor and attend the Lords.

I am wondering if this is a gentle hint to him not to run in 2028, either because there is some other Labour politician interested, or the fear that he might lose. After 8 years Ken Livingstone had lost some his support, now with the preferential voting system back, always the possibility Sadiq Khan could lose in 2028.

My colleague is a good 20 years younger than him, but returned from his hajj a few weeks ago looking just as bald, haggard and thin.

Yes, it’s a religious pilgrimage type of thing, I think coming back a bit knackered is the sign of it being quite physically taxing, the effort, the weather, the food etc.

Well for a start he apparently was too thick to understand what a grooming gang was until recently.

Yes I wondered what happened to that. I guess getting colleagues in over took that after all.

He has recently completed Hajj, it is quite physically gruelling involved, as far as I understand a lot of travelling and fasting. Men also shave their heads as part of it.
