Count Binface has a genuine chance against Nigel Farage!

Sounds crazy but…

None of the major parties are competing…

Farage won Clacton with 46% of the vote…

If the 54% united together to vote for Binface, we could have the most preposterous election outcome of all time!

I reckon this could get some genuine momentum… all the other parties would LOVE this result, and even if they didn’t actively campaign for it, would surely quietly be gunning for Binface to win.

Joke MP better than a corrupt one

Get ready for price capped fish and chips!

I genuinely think on here that people don’t realise that lots of people would still vote for Reform.
Just lots keep it quiet because of the stigma.

Do you all honestly think that Reform will do badly if there was a GE tomorrow?

Errr,Zack Polanski !!!!!!!

Which constituency is he MP for?

DdraigGoch · Yesterday 12:52

LauraNorda · Yesterday 08:23

Is a joke MP really what the country needs right now?

He'd be a joke MP who actually turns up in his constituency. Unlike the joke MP who was the incumbent.

As opposed to the incumbent joke MP?

Its a very bad joke. He was a big part of us leaving the EU. Vile creature.

I live in Clacton and it's an incredibly sad state of affairs I have to either vote for a racist misogynistic lying prick or a joke candidate. My town is falling apart, anti social behaviour is high, unemployment is through the roof, health and life expectancy is falling. Trying to sell and move but houses aren't selling. Reform can F.O.

Isn't a lot of that to do with the residents though? Anti social behaviour most certainly is. There's no need for people to behave like scum.

Remember a few years back when london borough of newham shipped a load of their no hopers in that direction.

Errr, well that is amusing. Polanski is not an MP.

No not at all. Not well done to them - it shows everyone that they want put a candidate in because they are sure Farage will still beat them.
Look at it like this - if Farage is such a bad MP and Reform are so bad, why aren’t the other parties fighting him in the by election? If the other parties are so much better the let them take his seat.

The main parties are scared of Farage , they know he’ll rock the establishment if he ever formed a government.

Most politicians absolutely don’t want to have their careers come to an end…

Come on other parties if you think you’re good enough - take Farage on !

😆

I think most people realise that lots of people will vote for Farage in Clacton. That’s not the question.

The question is whether, despite the 1,000s of votes Farage will get, Binface could get even more!

Based on the 2024 election, I’d say that’s at least a distinct possibility given that this will effectively be a two-horse race (yes, there will doubtless be others, but Binface clearly has the momentum, and those wanting to vote against Farage will overwhelmingly vote for him).

You are correct I think about the hidden Reform voter. If there was a General Election tomorrow the lowest they would come is third, once their policies were scrutinised in a campaign.

As for Count Binface not standing, there will be more than just him standing and Nigel Farage in the by-election. My guess is about eight candidates in total, as there will be some independents.

CaptainMyCaptain · Yesterday 12:57

Please please please let it happen 🙏. Hopefully Farage would just shrivel up with the humiliation. Actually he'd just whinge about being a victim but please let it happen anyway.

I think he'd do a great job.

Let's not forget that President Zelensky was elected on the back of being a popular actor and people said that was a joke.

On the contrary, I think most posters realise that many people would still vote for Reform.

Do you all honestly think that Reform will do badly if there was a GE tomorrow?

People can vote for who they want. They are just entitled to have all the relevant details about who they are voting for. If they have all the details about Posh George and Harborne and Farage's other financial links and they still think he is more concerned about his constituents than the people who give him ££££ then they should go for it and vote for him. That is how democracy works.

The election is possibly three years away.

What happens in Clacton may decide whether we still have a Reform Party led by Farage. People who vote for Farage and people who vote for Reform are not 100% aligned. He has become more of a liability since his grifts have come under scrutiny.

Whether Labour tackles the things people care about in Reform-leaning constituencies will also make a difference.

It shows everyone that they want Farage's plan to fail.

Reform have the most support in national polling at the moment, just, but they also attract a very significant anti vote. Lots of supporters of other parties are going to be utterly delighted to see Farage look a tit.

It also shows that practically speaking, the parties think there's a decent chance of another by election in the seat after this one, so it's sensible to save their money.

LauraNorda · Yesterday 08:23

Well all the Reform MPs are a joke - and you could extend that to the "never say yes if they can possibly say no" DUP as well.

Daysgo · Yesterday 12:59

Farage has just demonstrated the absolute contempt that labour, tories etc hold for the democratic process and for most people. They're ignoring the by election because they r afraid they'll lose. Nothing more.

Unless you live in Clacton then YABVU. Why would you relish the citizens living there having someone in charge who has no policies and would bring chaos to the area, just.to appease your dislike of Farage?

Count Binface has promised to do things properly if elected as an MP, including moving into the constituency and hosting surgeries. Something Farage never did.

No the contempt is for Farage and his cronies. He is the one disrupting the democratic process and wasting tax payers money.

It's ok, you can be loud and proud of your reform vote! lol. Own it if you want to vote for a really really shit party.

IdentifyingAsAWoollyMammoth · Yesterday 13:02

I'm expecting Farage to win but with a reduced majority on a lower turnout. Humiliating.

He's going to have an unpleasant summer of continuing scrutiny and ridicule (which he loathes). There are already political commentators suggesting Farage will actually bottle it and backpedal, withdrawing his resignation and cancelling the election. Humiliating.

Binface will get the largest number of votes he's ever received.

No matter what happens, Farage has made a mistake in terms of the bigger picture, even if not in Clacton. He'll never be Prime Minister now.

The difficulty with predicting GE results is the tactical voting rate. It's conceivable Reform get the most votes but not the most seats, given that we know there's a cohort willing to vote to keep them out.
