I mean his son's antics have been vindictive, petulant and extremely damaging to the monarchy. There is some defence in that Meghan seems to have some kind of attention seeking borderline personality disorder but Harry was the one who shafted his own family.

I'm not being funny but if I were the King I'd give even my own son a wide berth after all that. How do they know its not going to be twisted into some kind of absurd drama? This is the same mumsnet where people can't stand their MIL and want to go no contact over the most minor issues. Yet somehow think William, Kate and Charles are all just going to welcome Harry with welcome arms and have a cosy family get together.

I mean if my brother or son had made a career and living out of writing books, making documentaries and selling on interviews on making degratory comments on me, making claims about me they knew I wouldn't be able to defend whether they were true or not and lied about me, I can't say I'd be in any rush to be seeing him or his kids.

I see posts and posts on here probably from the same posters who lose their absolute shit if an MIL dares discuss some minor family detail with a friend of hers or makes a one off comment on a person's parenting. But Harry running his mouth off over several media outlets about his family is seemingly NO PROBLEM AT ALL and its a complete mystery to these people as to why they aren't all hopping on the first jet to California or welcoming him with open arms.

It is not as simple as that. Security at Buckingham Palace is dictated by an executive committee and it takes time to put in place. Harry would have known that and is clearly trying to be as difficult as he can. His father is elderly and has cancer so one would think that his son would not want to cause him extra stress. He pays for his own security in America.
