I was in Bergen the other day when Norway played France. The locals were amazing, and so good natured in defeat. I hope they win too.

Although given the altitude I imagine the sooner after they arrive in Mexico they play the better their performance, from an English players perspective, as generally the advice for sportspeople is get there just before the event, or allow 10/14 days to acclimatise to the altitude. As they can’t do the latter then an earlier kick off should be better. That and dodging the storms of course :)

It will be warmer here. Move the game to Wembley.

Mexico has only lost twice in their stadium

Bad luck if you are Mexican and have a ticket for the game and have to work Sunday.

Not surprised, given that most teams don’t normally play 2000m above sea level and will struggle. I think England are screwed, unfortunately.

I know it sounds like sour grapes blah blah, but why choose such a venue for any team ? It seems unfair if you’re not Mexico! I think England are screwed, but they have to go out and do their best. They must know they are the underdogs here!

I think it’s because Mexico is a joint host and this is their iconic stadium, and the last game to be played outside the US (iirc). To be fair, Mexico has a greater football pedigree than either the US or Canada, so it’s fair they should play on home turf as a host nation. It’s just very hard on any opponent.
